What if the bpa is a punter.

Positions matter, that's just a fact. Everybody knows that, it's why positional pay is such a big deal and why every team freaks out about Qbs, and CBs, and LTs. A RB helps you win less than the other options, won't last as long, and is far more easily replaced than the other positions.

come on ebb , a punter ? is that even a realistic debating point

a few years ago i had this debate about sherff and i was right about him . the top 4 even 5 qbs are all about even and carry the same risk of failure or success.

barkley is the best player in this draft period, if i am the browns and i get him and walk away with rosen , allen and mayfield then i am ecstatic . barkley adds more pressure to a defense then carlos hyde

rbs arent so replaceable we havent replaced morris and he has been gone for a few years

I couldn't disagree more. Darnold and Rosen are the best 2 QB prospects. Allen and Mayfield (in either order) are definitely the 3rd and 4th best QB. I'd much rather have the best QB from this draft than the best RB.

i disagree , they all have warts , they all have good points . i dont think you lose out with either one

You have got to remember, this entire thread started with some one's misguided wetdream that the Browns take a QB at #1, the Giants then take Chubb at #2, the Jets take the 2nd best QB at number #3. Then the Browns for some unfathomable reason, sitting on a ton of draft picks already, mysteriously trade away from Barkley at #4, and THEN Denver trades away from the QB in order to do the Redskins a solid and let US trade up to take Barkley. All for the low low price of Cravens, a 3rd rnd draft pick in 2019 and a hand shake.

1. The Browns would trade away from him

Money wise they are committed to Keenum for this year only. If they cut him after this year, they actually SAVE $11M against the cap. Its a $36M contract which they can get out of after one year.

But other than that.. yep they are all in on Keenum.

2. We just drafted Perine last year.
3. IM not a fan of throwing multiple draft resources at one player.
4. I been told since January we are a better team already, so no need to go all in to get more better.


If he is there at 13, Im all over it. If it requires a trade up, no thanks.

Why is that?? Because I dont think its a sound plan to go throwing multiple picks at one player when we are more than a RB away for seriously competing for a Super Bowl??

I mean unless you seriously belive the addition of Smith, Barkley and Richardson all of a sudden makes us a better team than

Philly, Minnesota, The Rams, The Saints, I could continue to list.

Suffice to say a trade up for a RB would serve no purpose other than to look good on the PR board and assist in Bruces greatest asset... that of winning off the field.
