Mets went down in order.

3-2 mid 9th.

Edwin Diaz is now in.

And he gives up a 4 pitch walk.....with Soto on deck and Bell following.

Here we go again.

edit:
Soto flied out....Bell walked.
2 on....1 out.

Nothing is easy....ever.

We've lost way too many winnable games against teams we should beat. As much as I want to go on a run and make the playoffs we need to address some glaring issues with this current group.

True. And another glaring problematic issue is playing McNeil in LF.
That's a disaster waiting to happen imho.
With Nimmo out now for at least another week that means Pillar will be in CF.
Almora should only be used as a pinch runner, or a late inning OF defensive replacement.
Rojas needs to stick with Smith in LF...or even JD Davis can play there too on occasion.
Also gotta get Nido back asap....and deGrom too, but I'm not holding my breath on that...besides, bringing back Jake if we end up out of the running would be senseless. Shut him down until 2022.

When Diaz is your closer, you are bound to lose a lot of winnable games.

Like I said during the game earlier...the margin for error...yada yada yada.

Up Next...
Mets RHP Carlos Carrasco (0-2, 6.59 ERA) makes his eighth start as a Met as New York opens a three-game series at Miami.

Can't wait until this guy makes it to the big club...and hopefully it's soon....ie: 2022.

Mets scored 2 in the 3rd....all via walks and 2 HBP.
Why DiSarcina held Pete from tagging at 3rd on McNeil's fly out to left is beyond me.
Hopefully Baez doesn't have broken knuckles from that HBP.

4-2 Mets mid 3rd.
If Cookie can't toss a shutdown inning here...then he's a waste.
