Things got a little hairy in the 9th but Diaz was able to get through it. Mets win, Braves lost again. Let's finish this off tomorrow.

My mistake.

Weird schedule coming up, I believe 2 against Houston, then Marlins again, the another 2 against Houston.

Also would 100% pickup Cain. Defensively he's still there, not a bad late game defensive replacement or 4th/5th outfielder. He's been there before and won it. I'll take him.

All good.

* Yep....and I wonder if Eppler feels the same.
He could also help us down the road with scouting NL central teams he's familiar with.... aka: Brewers & Cards ( 1 of which we might possibly run up against in the postseason ) We play 3 @ Milwaukee in late Sept too.

He had a pretty nice WS against us too in 2015 when he was in KC.

Mets lose 6-2.
Bassitt deserved a better fate. Lugo was crap.
They'll have a chance to win the series tomorrow....or at worse get a 2-2 split.

Trainer's Room...

Tommy Hunter pitched 1 2/3 innings for the Mets after the a 35-year-old right-hander recovered from back surgery that had sidelined him since May 18 last year. The 15-year big league veteran struck out two in a perfect eighth.

Mets C James McCann, recovering from a broken bone in his left wrist that has sidelined him since May 10, went 2 for 4 with a walk for Double-A Binghamton and is 3 for 13 in three games of his rehab stint.
Pitcher Max Scherzer (oblique) may make a rehab start Tuesday.

Up Next....

LHP David Peterson (3-1, 3.60) is scheduled to start Monday's series finale, but manager Buck Showalter said the Mets were making contingency plans in case Peterson's wife goes into labor.
Marlins LHP Trevor Rogers (3-5, 5.87) will start for Miami. He is 2-0 with a 1.35 ERA in four starts vs. the Mets.
