Now it's 7-1 after a 2 run double.
Reed is basically Familia...maybe even worse.

He should not be on this team.

Trevor Williams is now in...

And it's 9-1.

This one is done pretty much.

Also....Braves are winning in the 6th.
Phils won earlier.

LOL

I think I'm good with not seeing Peterson anymore this season. Unless Walker, Bassit, Cookie and the next 4 guys up are all hurt he shouldn't be an option. Never goes more than 4 innings, always starts us in a hole. I've seen enough.

I really have no idea what Buck was thinking there with those moves.
Maybe that hook of Peterson was too quick?

:noidea:

It's 10-1 now....
Those 7 runs scored after there were 2 outs...to make matters even worse.

Also have to wonder how much impact McCann being out has had on this staff.

Great...right after Nimmo's leadoff triple in the 6th...Marte gets beaned...and has to come out.
Plummer is in to run for him.

And after all that...Lindor popped out....Pete K'd.
McNeil singled in Nimmo...but was thrown out stretching at 2nd.

10-2 after 6.

We need another big bat somewhere in the line up. Pete's going to deliver somewhere around 45 Homers, but after him is a big dropoff, maybe our next guy will have 18-20. We need another 32-35 homer guy. Don't wait till the trade deadline of July 31st, start looking for him now. The Braves are coming on strong and are not going to let up, their bad spell to start the season is over. This is going to be a tight race. One more big bat is the answer.

We also need to get Scherzer & deGrom back into the rotation.
The back end guys have treaded water long enough. Our BP could also use a few upgrades.
The leaks in the boat are becoming problematic and cause for concern. Too much inconsistency.

The extension of the playoffs hurts our chances of landing a bat, fewer teams will be willing to sell.

Final:
10-2 brew crew.

Mets were flat all around in this one.
Put it in the "el-stinko" file.

Trainer's Room....

Mets C James McCann (left hamate fracture) will begin a rehab assignment Thursday at Double-A Binghamton. Tuesday marked four weeks since his surgery and McCann said he stopped feeling any pain while taking swings late last week.
If there are no issues, he could be back up within a week.
RF Starling Marte exited with a bruised right forearm after getting hit by a pitch in the sixth. X-rays were negative and he is day-to-day.

Up Next....

Mets RHP Tylor Megill (4-2, 4.50) will start the rubber match of the three-game series Thursday night.
He'll oppose oppose Brewers LHP Aaron Ashby (1-5, 3.91 ERA)

Mets Thursday Rubber Game Lineup vs Milwaukee (Ashby)

Plummer has to get going soon (hopefully tonight) or he'll be sent down soon.
We have some good bats in the system....could be time to explore some other options.

Mets lead it 1-0 after 3.
McNeil has the Mets lone hit...and rbi single in the 1st.
Nimmo was HBP yet again.
Doesn't seem like we'll see the end of that nonsense anytime soon.

Edit...
LOL...I was about to post how good Megill has looked...but he just gave a up a solo HR to Yelich in the 4th.

*Game is tied.

edit: for now
Megill in trouble....1st & 3rd...only 1 out.
