Trainer's Room....

Mets 3B Eduardo Escobar was unavailable. "Non-workplace event, is the way they put it," Showalter said. "We'll see how he is tomorrow. That's all I can really say, legally." OF Starling Marte (bruised right forearm) was out of the starting lineup after getting hit by a pitch Wednesday night...but came in as a pinch runner in the 8th, and scored what would become the winning run. He said he should be back Friday.

Sounds to me like it might have been a case of dehydration and fatigue....or as you said, possibly a bout of eating something that didn't agree with him..but he's apparently available tonight per Buck..and could be back in the starting lineup on Saturday.....

Eduardo Escobar Rejoins the Team​

Eduardo Escobar rejoined the Mets Friday after leaving the team due to a “non-workplace event” before Thursday’s game.

The New York Post‘s Mike Puma reports Escobar was taken to the hospital yesterday, and teammates described him as “disoriented.” Buck Showalter said Escobar should be back in the lineup on Saturday.

And in other injury news, Travis Jankowski plans to return to the team in “the first week of July,” according to the New York Daily News‘ Deesha Thosar. He’ll have imaging done on his broken hand next week, and if all goes well, he’ll ramp up rehab activities.
