Damn....prior to the AS game, Tai Walker hadn't won a game since July 3rd.
After the AS game, he's been mediocre and less than stellar in his 2 outings, including today.

6-0 Jays.
Walker lasts only 4 (he gave up 3 in the 3rd)...and 3 more in the 5th...without getting an out.
Last time out he couldn't make it out of the 1st, with that botched 3 run error.

Miguel Castro comes in now to mop up in the 5th.

Smith singled to plate Nimmo to chase Ryu....

It's now Jays 6 - Mets 3....and still only 1 out..

Well...Rich Hill looked good for 5 innings, then he suddenly couldn't get an out in the 6th..and left after loading the bases.
Seth Lugo came in and right off the bat gave up a 2 run single....then after allowing another run, he settled down to get the next 3 batters.

Mets down 3-1 heading to the bottom 6th.

Wow.
Ex Met Jacob Barnes since coming in, gave up 2 out a walk, a single...and then a 2 run double to Jeff McNeil who came in to PH for Nido...so Barnes was pulled....

New Jays pitcher got Guillorme to ground out.

It's now 5-3 Mets...heading to the 7th.

Jeurys Familia is coming in.

I get that challenge by Toronto on the Mets double steal...but not the overturn call.

Onto the 8th.
5-3 Mets.

Trevor May coming in.

edit....and he's allowed a leadoff double and single.
Jays at the corners with no outs.

Ughhh....another single makes it 5-4.
Still no outs. May crapping the bed.
Now he gives up a fly out to center deep enough for both runners to tag.
2nd & 3rd...1 out......and now the IBB to load em up....

May is yanked for Aaron Loup.

Final:
Mets 5 - Blue Jays 4

Pete went deep. McNeil had a clutch PH.
Hill was solid for 5. Bullpen to the rescue.

The Wrap/Recap....

The Box....

The Pics....

Trainer's Room....

Mets RHP Jacob deGrom (forearm tightness) threw off a mound and felt good, according to Mgr Luis Rojas.
He said deGrom is progressing, but his next step hadn't been determined yet and no decision will be made on whether to schedule a minor league rehab assignment until the two-time Cy Young Award winner goes "full tilt" off a mound.
RHP Carlos Carrasco could finally be ready to join the Mets after a strong rehab start Sunday for Triple-A Syracuse. The 34-year-old Carrasco struck out six and walked none in three scoreless innings of two-hit ball against Buffalo. He threw 32 of 38 pitches for strikes following a rough outing last time out. "Very encouraging," Rojas said, adding that Carrasco's next appearance could be in the majors or minors. Carrasco has been sidelined all season recovering from a hamstring injury after coming over from Cleveland in the January trade that also brought Francisco Lindor to New York

Up Next....
Mets begin a five-game home series against Atlanta with a doubleheader Monday. RHP Marcus Stroman (7-8, 2.59) is scheduled to start the opener, with the nightcap TBD. The third-place Braves are five games behind the Mets.

Ronnie, and the guys in the booth....
