Hey, Robert "the babe" Stock...lol...if there's ever another situation where you're batting with 2 outs and runners at 2nd & 3rd...try taking a few pitches instead of swinging at the 1st one and grounding out.
You just never know...maybe a WP or PB, or even a Balk would bring in a run.

Newly called up RHP Stephen Nogosek came in for him and threw a 1-2-3 inning.

We lose way too many games to mediocre/bad teams to be serious contenders at the moment.

We need to stop giving away winnable games. Full stop.
It's time to start playing some consistent fundamentally sound baseball and string together a nice winning streak again because that 5 or 6 game buffer we've enjoyed for about 2 months is slowly slipping away and almost gone.
Also gotta get some quality starts from our pitching staff to take the heavy load off the overworked bullpen before everyone gets burned out by mid August.

No one said it was gonna be easy....but we definitely shouldn't be making it easy for the opposition.

Our Mets are still in 1st place...but the 3 teams just below us are beginning to smell blood and licking their chops, so we must make sure to keep them in our rear view and at a safe distance.

Mets RHP Carlos Carrasco (hamstring) was roughed up in a short rehab outing for Syracuse.
LHP David Peterson (right side soreness) is playing catch and is expected to start throwing off a mound this weekend, Luis Rojas said. Peterson went on the 10-day injured list July 1.
NY placed backup infielder José Peraza on the 10-day IL with a broken right middle finger and recalled RHP Geoff Hartlieb from Syracuse. RHP Jerad Eickhoff was designated for assignment
