Just in case there is any lingering skepticism, you should know that when we started using this ranking system in 2017, seven of the 8 teams with the lowest, or easiest, FSOS made the NFL playoffs. Last season, 8 of the bottom 16 teams on the “easy” side of the rankings made the playoffs. The evidence clearly supports the FSOS.
Great work Joe! Definitely prefer a SOS to be based on more realistic data like this, as opposed to previous records.

Steelers will likely be one of those teams that disappoints because Tomlin sucks at playing easier teams.

So Fantasy wise the AFCW have the best defenses and the NFCW have the worse.

Just to clarify, those divisions you mention look to face off against the best/worst respectively.

The table shows the average defensive rank of the team's opponents in the 2019 schedule.
Each team faces 16 opponents. All 16 opponents have their own defensive value. Then those 16 values are averaged into one number to make it easy.
KC as a team will face the toughest defenses on their 16-game schedule.
ARI will face the softest.

Never thought about grouping them by division, but since you suggested it...
This is how each division ranked defensively (which is different than the opponent rankings of the defenses each team will face).
AFCS combined actually has the toughest defenses. (Surprisingly, JAX ranked the worst of the division.)
NFCS combined has the worst (largely driven by TB and ATL).

Maybe I confused things with the chart above which shows how each team's defense scored in the ranking categories.

Opponents grouped by division.

Fair enough but I'd say playing each other 6 games had something to do with the overall rankings.
