I said it wrong or you misunderstood. AP ran a 4.38 as a rookie, nobody at 250 catches him. I was talking about Walter. He ran 4.62 as a rookie, and it only went down from there as he got older. Even at 4.6, there's plenty of college kids in this draft at 250(260, 270...) that could outrun him. That's why I say you have to judge greatness of a player against the men they played against.

Fair enough, with that said Walter Payton is still the best running back to ever play.

We are only going to have 8 people in this draft so you will never go nearly as long between your picks.

Hey Ritz, how's your son doing?

My son is doing great, thanks for asking. Doctor removed kidney Thursday and it took 1.5hrs. Longest 1.5hrs of my life. Recovery was a hour then we could see him. He couldn't leave till he peed and we waited most of Friday. He waited till Friday late, right when a Tornado warning was happening then he peed so we could leave turning the storm. So thoughtful of him :laugh3:. Today he is still recovering but overall he doesn't seem to be in to much pain. So basically he is good.

Now lets get this other draft going. :yahoo:When does it start and all the rules?

Did we ever come to a final decision on the player pool?

The player had to have at least played during the 1990 season to be selected. Meaning if a guy played 1977 - 1990 you can pick him.

1 QB
2 RB
1 FB
3 WR
1 TE
2 OT
2 OG
1 C
2 DE
2 DT
2 OLB
1 ILB
1 FS

Remember there will be a playoff and you will have to make your best argument as to why your team is best.

Don't get me wrong LT is probably in my top 10 favorite players of all time I just don't think he was the best of all time.

Faulk 12 seasons 12,279 yards rushing 100 rushing TD's 767 receptions 6,875 yards receiving 36 receiving TD's

Tomlinson 11 seasons 13,684 yards 145 rushing TD's 624 receptions 4,772 yards receiving 17 receiving TD's

Faulk also was not always his teams #1 option, he had Hall of Famers Isaac Bruce and Tory Holt to share the ball with, LT didn't really have that.

Faulk did put up the numbers LT did matter of fact he had more yards from scrimmage.

I don't believe LT was hands down the best RB of his day. There is no doubt Walter Payton was the best back in his day and remains the best of all time IMO.

But it's just my opinion and I don't like to try and prove other peoples opinions are wrong, but I have been lucky enough to see everyone of these guys play (aside from Jim Brown) and it's easy for me to say Walter was the best I ever seen. And remember i'm a Vikings fan who has always hated the Bears.

Faulk had people to take the pressure off of him in the running game. LT was always the focal point of every defense. Faulk played one more year and only had 700 more total yards but 26 fewer TDs. Both were incredible blockers and Faulk is my #2 RB in history.

I love Payton as well...he's #3 in my book but again, I discount the era he played in. The players today are just bigger, stronger, and faster.

AP would be higher but he doesn't catch the ball much and he is not a great blocker.

Bo Jackson would be much higher if he did it longer...he's likely be #1 on my list.

Gale Sayers is an interesting discussion because he was fast even by today's standards but I don't put him close to the top five.

I discount Jim Brown's accomplishments more than anybody probably.

Barry was great but that's mostly just because he was fun to watch and a great runner but didn't receive and wasn't asked to block.

Emmitt I discount because he played so long and the last few years was just to get the record that Barry could have easily put out of reach...it just shows the difference in attitude of Barry and Emmitt.

As for Cowboy RBs, I know Dorsett was mentioned but if you look at Herschel Walker's stint with Dallas, he may have been there best.

Terrell Davis, Roger Craig, Thurman Thomas are also interesting discussions. I see all three similar.

I also forgot Dickerson who reminds me of Robert Smith. He was a tall, upright runner with blazing speed but honestly, I don't think much of Dickerson in today's game and his drug issues really ruined his career standing.
