Pass rushers are indeed always taken early. There is a reason why the Rams are being linked to Clowney and Barr at 2 atm even though pass rush is the strength of the team. Von Miller has always been a big wild card but I am under the opinion that he is one of the 10 most valuable players in the whole league when he plays. Denver pretty much has to keep him on the team as long as Miller still attempts to play in the NFL. I also really like Wolfe and Ware is at least a starting level player for the next 2 years.I can respect that. Ford is a very controversial player in this draft. You either love him or hate him as a prospect. He has some injury red flags and yes the age thing is a bit of concern. I took him because of his pass rush ability that he adds to this team. You don't usually find pass rush talents like him at 31. Because this draft is so deep though there is a chance he would fall that far where most drafts he is a top 15 prospect. Pass rushers always get taken quickly as they are so hard to find. Yes he won't start year one because of Von and Ware on the team but Von's contract is almost up plus he is coming off a serious injury. Ware is probably a 2-year loan at this point in his career and is also coming off some serious injuries. Wolfe the next best pass rusher on the team is coming off a spinal injury that left most questioning if he would play again. Quanterus Smith is a nice prospect but nobody quite knows how he will be in the NFL. So the Broncos have a lot of question marks at the pass rush department.
Speaking of rankings. I have QB Savage ranked #17 while the #8-16 ranked QB's were still on the board.
Savage is big with a cannon for an arm, shows nice accuracy to all areas of the field and despite his inexperience, exhibits strong pocket presence and poise. Look for Savage to ascend draft boards if he convinces teams his well-traveled college days weren't an indication of a lack of commitment. His upside could be huge.
Big, tall strong-armed gunslinger who can make all the throws from the pocket, with a quick, fluid throwing motion. Could have the strongest arm in the 2014 class
There has been a nice buzz about Savage lately. Some are looking at him as a potential diamond in the rough as a mid-round pick. Savage has big size, pocket presence and a quality arm. He also hails from a pro-style offense. In 2013, the senior completed 61 percent of his passes for 2,958 yards with 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
Savage is on the radar of the quarterback-needy teams that are considering waiting to draft a quarterback until after the first round.
Any site that has Savage ranked 17th is IMO a joke. He is ranked 8th and 9th on the two sites I use.
I PM'd the Jets GM.

I'm actually somewhere in the middle on Ford. I know he is a great talent. He gave Mizzou fits last year. I just think his upside is capped where it is right now which makes his fit based on which team he goes to. Imo, he is going to contribute in the NFL right away but he isn't going to be going to any pro bowls.

i think depending on the answers he give as far as why he transfered so much will determine where is at in all boards. if his answers are doctored GM's are going to see that and prolly knock him. this is a guy that if he had stayed at Rutgers we are prolly talkin bout him as a 1st or second round pick at worst. he has that kind of talent. but if he jumped around cause he doesnt like being tied down, or he doesnt like the location that much, or he didnt like the playbook or the coaching staff what happens if he doesnt like the playbook location or coaching of the team that drafts him? your looking at a potential problem if you do not have all the facts.
But it still begs to question, why did he transfer so much?
Might have been some maturity issues there but lets hope he's grown up. He's tough, has a cannon for an arm, played in a pro style offense. I think he's got some upside.
I would say even more important than his interviews will be the phone calls made to all those previous teams and what they saw in the kid. If they speak half way highly of him even after he transferred then I could see him jumping up draft boards. If they say he butted heads with the coaches and was a real problem in the locker room then he could just as easily go undrafted.

A little off topic but just saw a screen shot of the Raiders 1st round picks for the last 10 years and the players taken the very next pick and man the Raiders could have an all-star team right now.
DJ Hayden--Sheldon Richardson (RDPOY)
Rolando McClain--CJ Spiller
DHB--Eugene Monroe
Darren McFadden--Glen Dorsey
JaMarcus Russell--Calvin Johnson
Michael Huff--Donte Whitner
Fabian Washington--Aaron Rodgers
Robert Gallery--Larry Fitzgerald
Now given they couldn't afford all of these players still being on the same team but just imagine Rodgers throwing to Fitzgerald and Johnson with CJ Spiller in the back field.
Thats pretty crazy but obviously if they had a couple of those guys they wouldnt have drafted in the same spot the following seasons.
