I wanted him with my one of my 3rds but traded out of the spot due to so many players I had with similar grades. Good pick

:agree: and :gaah: redskins were targeting him with the next pick. Oh well onto plan #14 now.

Very happy with the Broncos draft so far.

1. Dee Ford
2. Keith McGill
3. Cyril Richardson

McGill and Richardson will both compete for starting jobs and if not they are great depth at some positions that are very thin for the Broncos. Ford falls into the you can never have enough pass rushers on your team theme plus was best player on the board when we picked at the end of the 1st round. I would be very happy if this is what the Broncos did on draft day.

Those are very good picks. Honestly one of my favorite drafts thus far. McGill is likely your worst pick - and he may be a starter.

Green Bay and Houston are OTC.

I have a list from Houston but since I already selected 1 from the list I wanna give him a little time to see if he shows up before I make another pick for him.

He is OTC until 4:00 anyhow but we won't wait that long, i'll give him like an hour. I am just not sure if his list would change depending on who was picked.

Yeah he was the one pick that could have gone a bunch of different directions and even could have gone a couple of different guys at the position. Just think playing style wise he is the one that lined up the best with what the Broncos like to do with the Press-Man coverage. Honestly that is what it boiled down to with that one. Plus thought the OL depth in the draft in the late 2nd would be similar to what it was in the late 3rd where the Corner position was going to have a dramatic drop off.

I like Ellis. Kid is going to be a strong rotational NT at worst

Thanks Redskins need pressure up front. I wanted FS bailey but he was taken by some a-hole GM

Ford is a decent pick but he is already 23 which is the same age as Robert Quinn and I don't think pass rush is a need for the Broncos, really. Its an ok draft considering that you are drafting at the end but I don't see any transformational talents there

I really like Cleveland's draft. Not sure who that FS is but everyone else seems like a great value.

I can respect that. Ford is a very controversial player in this draft. You either love him or hate him as a prospect. He has some injury red flags and yes the age thing is a bit of concern. I took him because of his pass rush ability that he adds to this team. You don't usually find pass rush talents like him at 31. Because this draft is so deep though there is a chance he would fall that far where most drafts he is a top 15 prospect. Pass rushers always get taken quickly as they are so hard to find. Yes he won't start year one because of Von and Ware on the team but Von's contract is almost up plus he is coming off a serious injury. Ware is probably a 2-year loan at this point in his career and is also coming off some serious injuries. Wolfe the next best pass rusher on the team is coming off a spinal injury that left most questioning if he would play again. Quanterus Smith is a nice prospect but nobody quite knows how he will be in the NFL. So the Broncos have a lot of question marks at the pass rush department. Now if all these guys come back healthy then yes pass rush is probably not a priority but at this point it was a big enough question mark that it was worth taking a player like Dee Ford. Throw in the Broncos really don't have that many holes to fill. MLB and LG are about the only positions on the team where we as fans don't quite know who the starter will be. Last I heard they are moving Franklin to LG though and moving Clark to RT so depth is more the concern there. For the Broncos the MLB only plays about 30% of the snaps on defense so again not a position worth spending a 1st round pick on plus nobody at the spot with a 1st round grade.

So at that point to me it came down to who did I have highest on my draft board and Dee Ford was that guy. In the 2nd round Corner is the one position on the Broncos that is really lacking depth. The top 2 guys in Talib and Harris are both great starters but after them is a bunch of question marks. The Broncos want to get big physical corners and McGill was at the top of the list of guys left that fits that bill. Richardson adds great depth and competition for the OL so he was a no-brainer in the 3rd.

That was my thought of the guys that I took. With the draft though hard to tell as it is one big crap shoot so everybody is going to see it differently.
