I think there are actually 3 or 4 states with older median populations than Florida.

Yeah poor states where people can't afford to leave but overall numbers nowhere comes close to Florida... I work in healthcare and deal with Medicare on a daily basis...

Its not exactly that as far as I can tell. Florida just has a lot of really young people AND a lot of really ancient people. Its a weird mix. States like Maine, NH and VT just have a lot of old white people and not many young people.

I think NY procedure is when you hit a certain age. They send you a letter to let you know it's time to move to Florida and fuck up the traffic.

Florida has 20M people. New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont might have 3M combined.

Not from being retirement states though, more likely from an exodus of young people (no jobs or expensive cost of living).
