Subban is overrated they said.
Don't trade for Subban they said.

Oh and the best offensive defenseman this year was Letang <spit>.
For every 60 minutes that Subban played (5-on-5) this year his team had 15 shots on goal more than the opposition. That figure drops to just under 7 for any other regular defenseman on his team. I would say that he tilted the ice pretty well in his favour.
As a comparison, Zdeno Chara's team enjoyed 14 more shots on goal than their opponents for every 60 minutes he played 5-on-5. This was decimal points behind rookie Doug Hamilton on his own team. Chara faced only slightly better competition than Subban.
The fact is that Subban was a hugely positive influence on his team. He was, one could easily argue, the most effective defenseman in the league.
I hate the guy but the argument is there in spades for him to win this award.
If you honestly believe Subban is a better overall defenseman than Chara you must not have watched many Bruins games this year. Stats only tell part of the story. Subban isn't in Chara's class.
I watched about 15-20 games of both the Bruins and Habs this year. This year, without the playoffs I would say that, yes, Subban had more of an influence on his team's success than Chara did.
Playoffs? Different story all together, but this is a regular season award.

P.K. Subban of the Montreal Canadiens has won the Norris Trophy as the NHL's best defenceman.

He also won the award for being the biggest pussy in the NHL.
All is fine in my world.
Burrows will be happy he didn't repeat your award

Congrats PK. Any other team in the NHL including the Bruins would take you in a heart beat on their team
