Toronto, ON – A day after a man was banned from the Air Canada Centre and charged with mischief for throwing waffles onto the ice during a Maple Leafs game, the National Hockey League has banned general manager Brian Burke from its premises for tossing garbage onto the ice.

“We have put up with this for over a year now,” said NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, “but enough is enough. Mike Komisarek, Nikolai Kulemin, Dion Phaneuf…the list goes on and on. Our fans pay good money to see professional hockey. Tossing garbage onto the ice like this is simply inexcusable.”

The Maple Leafs finished 24th overall the season before Burke took over. They have somehow managed to get worse.

The 55-year-old Burke was rink side before Monday`s 6-3 loss to the Thrashers when he began chucking a dozen borderline NHLers onto the ice.

““Brett Lebda, Colton Orr, John Mitchell, Tim Brent…it just wouldn’t stop,” explained a terrified onlooker. “We begged him to stop, but he just kept sending them out.”

“It was horrifying,” cried another, before breaking down into tears.

Burke was issued a tresspass notice that dictates he stay at least 500 feet from every National Hockey League arena, and 50 feet from any National Hockey League player. Burke plans to fight the ban, but has stated that following this last order won`t be a problem, seeing how he hasn`t been that close to an NHL player in years.
