The Florida Panthers, of the National Hockey League, are restricting sales of tickets to their second round Stanley Cup games to residents of the United States. The announcement is intended to block Canadians from buying game tickets online.

Seems like this could be illegal but who is going to file a suit? Don Cherry?

Panthers limit ticket sales to block Leafs fans

Keep them hosers up where they belong.

Can't we just encourage (maybe even incentivize) Canadians coming to the game, and then unleash some sort of biological weapon that only acts on Canadians in order to kill them all?

here's a great way to stop the visiting fan base from buying up all the tickets.
sell out your own games to your season ticket base.

If the Leafs fan is trans does that cancel out the Canadian part?

Maybe the 13,659 fans (average attendance for Marlins games this season) should buy some Panthers tickets? Of course, they're going to be considerably more expensive.

If they were playing the Rangers they'd block sales from NY.

Just looked on ticketmaster. $400 in last row, $800 for anything remotely decent in the lower bowl. Hard pass.

I mean, you have to go to Sunrise. No thanks.

I know @dare2be has gone to games in Tampa in the past, but I don't think he's going to do the drive down to Sunrise with those prices...

Heat are playing the Knicks - are they doing the same thing?
I would doubt it but it's possible. From what I read, the Heat have a much higher amount of season ticket holders so they likely don't have as many available tickets for NY'ers to snap up. The Buc's tried to do this the last time the Giants played them in the playoffs and the NY AG threatened to sue

That was a cultural exchange program with @postmaster where I went with him to a Red Wings playoff game in Tampa and he returned the favor with a Penguins playoff game in Tampa.

What kind of culture would I get from a Leafs - Panthers game in Sunrise?

I might be mis-remembering like Roger Clemens, but wasn't there another Detroit fan (soggybottom666) that was in the Tampa area that used to post on this board :noidea:
