Not sure where you fell on this question, but I always thought Bochy was a C+/B- manager, and Sabean a solid B- GM.
So maybe they are cycling to the good decisions at just the right time....

Never been much of a fan of either. Prior to July 1st, I would have given Bochy a D for his handling of position players, a B+ for his handling of pitchers, and a C for his in game strategy. Sabean, I'd give him an D+ at developing from within, and an A- as a horse trader.
