The biggest issue is this out clause. City wants a clause that says if accumulating debt in 5 years, the city can terminate the agreement, similarly to arena having out clause saying if team loses money after 5 years, they can terminate agreement. Ummmmm...so, basically agree to stay now, but move in 5 years.

As a Canadian who has been monitoring this story from the VERY beginning (as I need to know if I'll be getting a Coyotes, or some other jersey, as I have the whole League,) to me the telling point of this is that there's on on-line poll ON THIS SITE (azcentral.com) that has less than 1000 respondents on this topic, and nearly three quarters of them say this team will be moved. End this already, the ambivalence from the locals is palpable.

One guy spoke to the value of having the team around...then the next woman talks about furloughs/layoffs and where they'd get money for the hockeys. I don't know ANY of these council people have been involved in this decision until this very moment. That's sort of despicable.
