Former Glendale councillor Joyce Clark - in favour of subsidizing the Coyotes - but also likes her free Coyotes tickets.

Joyce Clark ‏@clarkjv
Watching end of SF/Atl game then getting ready to leave for Coyotes game. My thanks to Paul & Dawn M for snagging tickets for me & family.

10 days left for Jamison to close the deal - Tick tock

The only way that this deal gets closed on Thursday is if the NHL kicks in some money or significantly lowers the selling price for the Coyotes. That said, it's one thing to buy the team, you also need operating income to maintain the team.

I still think this is the last season the team is in Glendale.

As long as they stay in the west, I will be fine.

Beating a dead horse here, but I really wish they would just move to a legit market. There are 5 or 6 viable markets that would love to have a team. Get the team in Quebec and you can do a conference swap with Winnipeg.

From a selfish perspective, they could play in Key Arena (not ideal, but it's temporary) while waiting for the new arena to be built in Seattle.

Edit: Not sure about 5 or 6 viable markets, maybe 2 or 3 at most (and a 2nd Toronto team will be an expansion team).

NO NO NO

there are?

Depends on who you ask, I guess. NHL considers Vegas a viable market. I disagree immensely on Vegas.

To me the markets are:
Seattle
Portland
Kansas City
Quebec

I wonder what kinda arena lease deal a Seattle NHL team will get from Chris Hansen (he's said he has no interest in owning an NHL team) after he just spent over half a bill on the new arena + NBA team

2 or 3 is probably more realistic in terms of being ready to go next season. But I think there are 5 or 6 markets that, if they build the proper arena, could support a team. Regardless, Phoenix has failed, time to chalk it up as a loss and move on.

All Seattle or Portland need is Paul Allen to give the okay to a relative to buy the Yotes. Is it going to happen? Probably not.

There was that Balsillie guy once.

Of course, he would have folded by now.

What was the Ownership situation when the Penguins threatened the move? Did they have a co owner deal in place?

The league dodged that bullet. Literally within a year of those talks Blackberry tanked. Can't Bill Gates just get into hockey and move a team to Seattle?
