As a Cubs fan I always get a kick out of how reactionary some of our fans are lol. We lost a game In SF. Did anyone think we were going to sweep the Giants?? Calm down everyone
Hey! Hush with all this reasonable talk. If Chicago wants to let the curse take hold and let doubt seep in, who are you to disallow them of that?

I'm not a cubs fan, but you just gave away the Bumgarner game after you laughably outplayed him.

Now alot rides on game 4, because in game 5 you're seeing Cueto and then Bumgarner. That could be 12 innings of aces.

We aren't seeing madbum again. It's a 5 game series.

He came out of the pen on 2 days rest against the Royals, I'd put money on Bochy doing it again if given the opportunity.

That is what KC said a couple years ago.

Although, I tend to agree that Bum will not be seen again this series. In '14, there was not the possibility of another series, so everyone was available for everything they had. If Game 5 is a thing on Thurseday, burning Cueto AND Bum pretty much kills the Giants for the NLCS.

Maybe, but that was also the last game of the year. That kind of screws the Giants for the next series.

You have to get to the next series to worry about that.

Hell didn't the Mets use Syndergaard out of relief in their NLDS last year just to get past the Dodgers?

We will just have to wait and see. Anything can happen over the next two games. Even with cueto pitching and mad bum relieving, I still like the Cubs chances with Lester on the mound. I also think madbum has become a little bit overrated in the post season due to his scoreless inning streak.

It is POSSIBLE, but very unlikely. I think the only way it happens is if Cueto only goes 3 or less or if the game goes long extras like last night. And in both of those scenarios, Bum would be down the list of options (Smith, Blach, Sammy all options for multiple innings over Bum getting in).

I can't see Bochy putting his season in Ty freaking Blach's hands when he has MadBum.

Of course he has become over-rated. But only because he was performing at an outrageous level that was/is impossible to maintain. That said, though, his "meltdown" last night was completely due to two pitches - a bad check-swing call and one too many fastballs to a good hitting pitcher. He still pitched 3 shutdown innings AFTER the Arrieta HR.

Maybe I need to look up the word overrated again because generally win someone wins you a World Series almost by himself then you can't really be overrated.

Again, possible. But I just don't see them burning Cueto AND Bum. Especially when there are multiple other options for multiple innings.

I wouldn't call it a melt down and he's still a very good pitcher, just not infallible.

That was by himself. He may have thrown more innings than the other 3 starters combined.

They were clearly the inferior team and Bumgarner flat out WILLED them to victory.

2 years ago he had a string of great performances. That doesn't help the giants now. He didn't will them to victory last night.

He already beat the Mets pitcher at NY against one of the 5 best pitchers in baseball in a pitching duel, though.

The magic is definitely still there but sometimes Aces can be beat and from what pitchers say, you usually have to get to them early.

His 3 innings post HR were pretty huge. It allowed the Giants to have extra arms to use in the late innings where the Cubs had to stick with Montgomery too long.
