This was a complete and utter disaster for him.

Anyone still doubt that managers matter in the playoffs? Roberts and all this talent: nada HOFer Bochy and the underdog in every single playoff series: 3 rings. Yes it's pretty random, but that's a bit too much evidence of skill to me. Bochy flat out stole Ned Yost's lunch money in 2014, game 4 was the turning point.

I'm still SMH at Dave Roberts for leaving Joe Kelly in the game longer than he should've.....but mainly for trying to get into the head of his former Dodgers player, Howie Kendrick, by intentionally walking the batter before him to load the bases with no outs in a tie game in extra innings. (which btw..was the right call at that point)

I'm sure he was hoping for a GIDP, or a K in that situation, so he could then summon Jansen.
That strategy backfired badly for LA.

Turned out the player got the ultimate best of that deal, and turned the tables on his former manager tonight. A Grand Slam.

It rarely ever works out that way...especially in the postseason.
