None of us 'know' but Mattingly thought so, and the evidence is there (walking the bases loaded). Last year he left Kershaw in too long and that didn't work either. The mistake wasn't pulling him it was leaving your best reliever on the shelf in the big moment. Same thing Yost did in game 4 of the WS last year, cost them the Series.
