I think we just wasted a really solid pitching performance here.
Clearly.
Should at least be tied if not ahead when your SP allowed 1 run through 7

Cards just find new guys every year lol
Lesters post season era is now under 2.5 for his career.

I really wish they would go away.
Not that it would have changed much for the result of this game, but damn, this home plate ump needs to be taught where the strike zone is.

I'm not sure thats the correct analogy. The Spurs have had one superstar and one legendary coach the whole time. I think being compared to the Spurs is always a compliment, though, so Ill take it. They're probably closer to the Lakers (#2 team in hardware, somehow luck into great rosters, relevant in multiple decades) but the image is totally different being from the midwest. The San Antonio Spurs of Baseball
I think yadi = Duncan in this analogy.I'm not sure thats the correct analogy. The Spurs have had one superstar and one legendary coach the whole time. Cardinals are weird in this series. Their 2 best pitchers are home cooking guys and they have to face Arrieta is Game 3. Its still a 50/50 series even with that first game knocked off.
(* Yeah I know the Spurs have been good before, too, but the past decade or so owes a lot to Duncan and the Cardinals got rid of their Duncan and Pop after the last WS)
Molina is amazing but thats like comparing him to Ted Williams or Hank Aaron instead of a player like Jim Edmonds.I think yadi = Duncan in this analogy.
We will see. I think Maddon put strop in to see if he would be effective and he got his answer. I doubt we will be seeing him against unless the Cubs are clearly going to lose another game. I think Rondon is the best bet from the bull pen to be effective against the cards. Other than that, I mostly agree. The cards will probably tear the rest of the Cubs bull pen to pieces.Molina is amazing but thats like comparing him to Ted Williams or Hank Aaron instead of a player like Jim Edmonds.
Anyways, analogies out of the way Im glad we didnt get hit by a truck like the Red Sox did when they broke their history. I suspect that the Cards getting more runs in the later innings than the early innings will be a trend.
I appreciate the respect, but no way this series is 50-50. If the Cubs win game 2 I think we have the advantage but we are relying on a lot of young hitters who have zero playoff experience against a great veteran Cards team. I see the Cards winning game 2 and taking the series in 4.I'm not sure thats the correct analogy. The Spurs have had one superstar and one legendary coach the whole time.
