Wouldn't have been the worst thing in the world to have a commentator who was pro-Giants. Karros and Williams are so pro-Philly it's ridiculous.

Agreed. Plus, I threw a pillow at the couch when FOX announced game six in Philly IN THE 3RD INNING!!!!

Jinxing bastards.

Silver linning...

Torres looks a whole lot better than the first 8 postseason games.

I think the Phillies are in good shape also. Two good starters, playing at home, with a superior offense. But both guys were drooling in their comments about the Phils chances.

Maybe a "Giants have two games with two excellent starters to get one win" once in a while might not hurt.

I don't always like looking back at questionable calls, but does anyone else think that Ruiz should have been sent back to the plate after getting hit by the pitch?

Isn't there a rule saying that unless you make an effort to get out of the way, it's considered a ball? (That's actually my main question).

To add to what I said above, I just something on CSNBA that said that the Giants game would be at 12:30pm PT if the Yankees win tomorrow. If the Rangers win, the Giants game would be at 4:57pm PT.

Yes. You have to make an effort to get out of the way. But unless you actually blatantly walk into the pitch it's hardly ever called. I think the Giants had this happen once this year - Giants pitcher - can't remember which team it was against though. I think Ruiz could have been called for it, but that's a risky call for an ump in such a big game.

OK, that's all I was wondering. There wasn't any argument from the Giants, so I didn't react too much, but I was thinking there was a rule that said that.

That being said, the Phillies crowd the black and constantly lean over the plate every time, so I'm thinking they aren't called out too often or else they wouldn't do it.

Thanks, Filo. Unfortunately, I don't have any alcohol in the house right now. Ran out last night. It's funny that I care so much about this. It's like I'm 8 years old all over again, watching the Giants for the first time. Can't wait for Saturday.

Here's the weird thing, guys. Maybe its just this team..and torture, etc. But i have a feeling this is exactly how the Giants win-after gut check moments. Its never easy with this team..but thats when they get tough.

Thought I'd update you guys with a couple of observations from the park that you may not have picked up on TV.

1. The crowd was definitely quieter than the last two games, not sure if it was the rain, or the 3 run inning.
2. MC Hammer was back again (also there on Tuesday) trying to glom on to some attention. Dude's a fucking A's fan.
3. In the middle of the 8th they played "Don't Stop Believin" and the crowd went wild at the intro thinking it was going to be the Ashkon version. It wasn't, but 30 seconds later they showed Ashkon in the crowd and the place erupted. Then they showed a middle aged guy in a luxury box belting out the lyrics -- it was Steve Perry.

I think we take game 6 in tortuous fashion. Go Chez!!

I don't believe that we'll see the 2009 Panda any time soon and I'm willing to accept that. I just feel that the DPs coupled with the defensive mental laps warrant him sitting. The gamble is just too great IMHO

Not just this series, for good. The gamble is too great to keep him and not trade him while he still has value.

Nah...he's still very young and very cheap. I think we hold on to him and get his conditioning right.
