Out here in SF, a lot of Giants fans became Mets fans for this past week mainly due to their Dodger hatred...and I was getting good luck wishes from many of them daily.... some I know, some I've never met before. It was pretty amazing. After the final out last night my phone would not stop with the congratulatory text alerts. Very cool.

Its a bit more than that. The Mets really have been in the postseason all that much and when they are they often get matched up against the Cardinals.

That said, if the Cubs win then it makes the Cards playoff performance look less pathetic.

Losing home field advantage didn't really matter in the end now did it? I think it's pretty brazen to predict a sweep considering the depth of the Mets pitching staff. But that's just me....

Mets also had the second best record in baseball the second half of the season...but yeah, they stink.

If I was going to make an argument for the Mets, Id stay away from the regular season as much as possible. The Cubs have a MUCH better regular season resume.

Cubs had 7 more wins and play in a tougher division. I'm not sure what the gauge on "MUCH better" is, but that's what I can come up with. Still need to win a few regular season games to make the playoffs, so to say they stink is a reach. Same for LA. They didn't stink either.

Id agree that no teams that make the playoffs stink. Baseball doesn't let enough teams in to have any stinkers.

The Mets are terrible vs good teams. 11-26 vs playoff teams in the regular season. Cubs were 32-24 against playoff teams. The only playoff team the Mets owned a .500 or better record against all year was the Dodgers because those teams were similar. Good pitching and sparse hitting. This series will be short and sweet. If the Mets played in the central they would have been a 80-83 win team
