Cardinals losing yesterday made the picture a little more clear. We pretty well know who the teams are, but the NL Central and NL West are still up for grabs.

I'm all for a Cubs-Dodgers WC game.

Give me two game 163s and I’ll be happy

I noticed that Duff only comes in here to post negative things about the team he claims that he likes (Rockies). Havn't seem him come and post positives during their current 8 game win streak.

The Cardinals are who I thought they were. A .500 team. They were 1 game over .500 with Methaney and are 1 game under .500 since Shildt became permanent manager. They had a great August to give us fans and exciting end to the season. They have some good young players to build upon. Hopefully they can bring in a good bat or 2 and some defense. As a Cardinals fan for many years, they have never been bottom of the league in defense like this.

Myles, Our Cardinals have several areas they need to improve on to be annual contenders but the most glaring need I see is a much better bullpen including a dependable closer.

Everything bad has to happen to the cards to help the cubs. Nobody wanted the cardinals in the playoffs because if they stayed hot, they would have went all the way.

Good luck to your Braves no matter who they play.

That'd be fine too.

But if the Cubs and Dodgers are in the Wild Card game, one of the favorites to win the NL will be eliminated before the real playoffs even start.

I certainly wanted the Cardinals to be in the playoffs but I'm not making any excuses because they won't be.

Baseball is the streakiest game of all sports. The Dodgers and the Rockies got hot and stayed hot at just the right time and the Cardinals did the opposite and it's as simple as that.

Anything can happen, but we'll need all the luck we can get.

Yeah, we both know that old saying "sometimes it's better to be lucky than good."

But, with that said, I think the Braves are pretty good too.

We're streaky, which can either be really good or really bad come playoff time.

Well if you get on a streak like the Dodgers and Rockies have been on lately you won't have any problems.

I know this is off topic but it appears that when your Dawgs take the field soon it will be two former Bama assistants going head to head against each other in a game your Dawgs should win easily.

I'm nervous before every UGA game. Hopefully this one goes as planned.

The Cardinals are better than a .500 team but they were never a contender. They just couldn't ride Carpenter and Molina all year and Carpenter was ridiculously streaky. They were a playoff team if they made a couple of moves differently but I think the Cardinals saw Carlos Martinez have issues and Wacha go down and they packed it in. The Cubs made a couple of moves and the Brewers made a couple of moves and the Cards got Matt Adams.

You hit the nail on the head, though. Cardinals need to bring in a solid position player who can play defense.

This Cubs-Cards game on today....a contending playoff team would be up 4-0 or 5-0 on the Cubs instead of 2-1 after some of the issues the Cubs had earlier in the game.

My guess is Rockies at Brewers for the wildcard. John Gray’s basically assuring that the Rockies don’t win the division. And with them facing Scherzer tomorrow plus SF just rolling over we might as well just crown LA the winners right now.

Dude, your team is in the playoffs so why do you remain such a negative person?

Somebody must be pissing in your cornflakes every morning of your miserable life!

I’m not gonna crown them for choking away a division title. They had the chance to control their destiny and they’re blowing it. They have a history of either being terrible or choking when it matters.

And now they’re headed towards the same 1 game playoff they choked away last year(ironically by Jon Gray the same guy choking tonight). They’re showing their true colors like they always do.

It does not matter when the Rockies play. Winning experience is king in the NL. The Nationals lost with HFA every year. If you can't win the wild card game, you aren't winning a round.
