Puig demoted

It's kind of like what the Lakers did to Kobe in the NBA when he demanded a trade in terms of keeping the player despite the player's issues but it's also nothing like that situation because no one ever had to convince Kobe to give 100%.

This SF Giants collapse has been amazing. Imagine if they miss the playoffs? Assuming they don't rally tonight, they would only have 1 fewer L than the Cardinals and Pirates

This is painful to watch. It really is.

But they did the EXACT same thing in '14...

You realize they won last night... right?
You can win a game and still be playing shitty baseball.

I'd be shocked if the Giants missed the postseason. I can't see the Marlins (especially without Stanton) or Mets making a serious run. Pirates are playing better ball, but their rotation is still a mess and McCutchen's having a bad year after being one of the best players in baseball.

Sure, but to make that post after a win is a bit suspect...

The Giants need to win AT LEAST two in a row before I stop squirming in my seat, but this is a VERY talented team (championship contender).

Having gone through a very similar stretch in '14, this is much more stomach-able.

Hoffman makes his MLB debut tomorrow night for the Rockies. At Coors Field. Against the Cubs.

He's pitched pretty well in AAA. 4.02 ERA doesn't sound great until you consider:

A. He pitches in the PCL
B. He's 23 years old, about 4 years younger than the average PCL player
C. Colorado Springs heavily favors hitters
D. Did I mention it's the PCL?

sorry, meant Albuquerque, not Colorado Springs. Isotopes Park is still a hitters paradise.

hell of an outing from Robbie Ray tonight. 7 innings, only one hit (solo HR), one walk, 13 K's. Sporting a K/9 of 11.19 on the season now.

His inconsistency is frustrating, but when he's on he looks real, real good. Ridiculous K/9. Him Lamb, & Segura have been the lone bright spots this year for us.

I'm not sure how Goldy couldn't be considered a bright spot, or maybe you left him out because you just expect greatness from him while the other 3 were actual surprises. Hitting over .300 again with an OPS over .900 and gonna have a 2nd straight 20-20 season. Not as good as his dominance in 2015 and he did struggle early on, but he's gonna end up with another very good/great year.

Padres pitching has been horrible since they traded away most of the rotation(wasn't great before then either) and the offense has cooled off big time after going 3+ weeks worth of games hitting a HR. It's obvious this team is looking towards the future and don't care how many wins they get in 2016. With a lot of their top prospects at least a year or two away, it seems like 2019 would be the earliest that they would actually contend with a small chance in 2018 if the prospects develop and reach and majors earlier than expected. I'm excited about the talent in the farm system, but I know those talented prospects could end up going nowhere and in 3 years the Padres could be in the same spot they are in now. HOPEFULLY that's not the case.

Dodgers have been hitting .280/.341/.475 since the ASB. Their 120 wRC+ is the best in MLB by a good margin (Indians are 2nd at 113, Reds are 2nd in the NL at 106). Seager's doing a pretty good Nomar impression, Turner and Grandal have been slugging over .600, and Adrian's flashing some power again.

And they are worst team against lefties in the bigs, and they will be facing 2 strong lefties in the upcoming series against the Gs. Starting with tonight's matchup against Bum.
