EY is a good guy but don't put too much into it.
I think the Giants are quite happy, thank you very much...
1.) We got beat fair and square and our 4 hrs at #2 in the division was lots of fun. We can win this division but we won't as long as our two normally lights-out relievers in Dale Thayer and Cool Hand Luke Gregerson come in on succeeding nights and throw belt-high hanging sliders. Last night I felt the same, exact way I did today. Going into the bottom of the 7th or 8th against the Giants with a one-run lead is an impending loss, not because of our setup men but because Huston Street is our closer. He is our closer for the same reason Josh Hamilton is in the 2-hole right now. Our GM vastly overpaid and can't swallow his pride and put the player where he should be playing. In 2010 we seep that series. This year, we lose 2 of 3 to a better team.
2.) Very proud of the team and very disappointed in the Giants of all teams in MLB going after Juan Guzman for what anyone would have to admit was a pretty minimal batflip after the HR. Your relievers often act the same way they look after getting outs, even worse than that fat dickhead Joba Chamberlain. But that's just "passion" ya know? That the Boche would order retaliation on Guzman of all people won't be forgotten. That was petty bullshit and I'm frankly embarrassed to see an NL West team make such a pathetic attempt at manufacturing drama.
Chuckle and call me a poor loser? Go back to #1.
The Giants have now lost 25 of the last 40 games. Just swept by the cellar-dwelling Dodgers ad in real danger of being in the cellar themselves soon.
A team's pitching fortunes are about as certain as the weather in the Midwest.
Who would have ever thought that two stud young starters like Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum could have crashed so hard and so fast?
Here are my realistic hopes for the weekend series. I want the Padres to sweep the Marlins, Dodgers to win 2/3 and the Rockies to win 2/3 from the Giants to bury the Giants in the cellar where they belong.
It could happen!
