Apparently he has good speed which is something the Mets generally lack. Any idea if he's a solid fielder? Obviously he's not the answer to the Mets woes in the outfield but if it's a complimentary move to future signings/trades then it seems like a worthwhile move.

I think the Giants are quite happy, thank you very much...

Oh, I don't doubt you're all very smug and content at three games over .500 :suds:

My response to you in the MLB daily thread for what it's worth but I understand that you don't like debating.

1.) We got beat fair and square and our 4 hrs at #2 in the division was lots of fun. We can win this division but we won't as long as our two normally lights-out relievers in Dale Thayer and Cool Hand Luke Gregerson come in on succeeding nights and throw belt-high hanging sliders. Last night I felt the same, exact way I did today. Going into the bottom of the 7th or 8th against the Giants with a one-run lead is an impending loss, not because of our setup men but because Huston Street is our closer. He is our closer for the same reason Josh Hamilton is in the 2-hole right now. Our GM vastly overpaid and can't swallow his pride and put the player where he should be playing. In 2010 we seep that series. This year, we lose 2 of 3 to a better team.

2.) Very proud of the team and very disappointed in the Giants of all teams in MLB going after Juan Guzman for what anyone would have to admit was a pretty minimal batflip after the HR. Your relievers often act the same way they look after getting outs, even worse than that fat dickhead Joba Chamberlain. But that's just "passion" ya know? That the Boche would order retaliation on Guzman of all people won't be forgotten. That was petty bullshit and I'm frankly embarrassed to see an NL West team make such a pathetic attempt at manufacturing drama.

Chuckle and call me a poor loser? Go back to #1. :suds:

Jesus Guzman on the other hand yells, smiles and often even (gasp) laughs after hitting HRs!!!

In the spirit of full disclosure, I also admit that Jesus blatantly jumped shortly after yelling toward the Padres dugout.

There is rampant speculation on Twitter that Clayton Kershaw may be suffering from a reoccurence of diarrhea tonight. The Padres certainly aren't impressed with that big, slow curveball.

Mike Redmond just got tossed and I don't blame him. ZITO SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO SCORE. These umpires just got the call wrong. Period. Why did Zito get three bases?!

You could clearly see Redmond was hot then he escalated matters. "That's horse shit. Fuck you." has always worked very efficiently at getting a manager tossed.

I am willing to go on record saying that Peter Moylan looks as absurd as Flablo Sandofat, Hunter Pence or Sergio Romo.

The Giants have now lost 25 of the last 40 games. Just swept by the cellar-dwelling Dodgers ad in real danger of being in the cellar themselves soon.

A team's pitching fortunes are about as certain as the weather in the Midwest.

Who would have ever thought that two stud young starters like Matt Cain and Tim Lincecum could have crashed so hard and so fast?

The extended playoff runs of late probably don't help. Those boys have logged a lot of innings in the past 3 years.

Mets win the makeup game against Colorado, no Wright, no stud pitchers. Solid win for the Metropolitan Baseball Club.

Here are my realistic hopes for the weekend series. I want the Padres to sweep the Marlins, Dodgers to win 2/3 and the Rockies to win 2/3 from the Giants to bury the Giants in the cellar where they belong.

It could happen! :hope:

Just because it would be too weird and improbable for all 5 teams to end up 81-81.

I want to know when people are going to start talking about Logan Forsythe and/or Kyle Blanks?

Man, you really hate the Giants.

Could happen? I fear it's bound to happen sooner than later.

This division is officially up for grabs.

The Dodgers are in last, but have won 8 of 10, and are only 4 games out.

They are the ubiquitous "best team on paper"...

Management has stuck with Donnie Baseball (Mattingly).

But if he can't pull it off now that the team is this close, it could be curtains.
