Starting to feel that way, Posey has never been better, the pitching is ridiculous, long way to go but looking good...

Baseball is fun like that, every year some team or two is surprisingly good, why not the Giants this year? Their 2010 win was about a year 'early' based on expectations. So maybe they are a surprise wildcard team.

There are other teams that surprise on the downside each year too...Twins maybe?
The year off last year did wonders for Posey; it also cost the Giants a trip to the playoffs

They weren't a playoff team last year even with him. Maybe that weird set up with everyone getting in but they were fine punting that year. We see what it did for Posey

Gausman was a pretty highly touted prospect, just never really put it together in Baltimore or Atlanta. The home runs gave him issues, and pitching in Camden Yards and the AL East probably didn't do him any favors.
He seemed pretty good last year but he seems exceptional this year. Wood is another one

What? They lost the last three games of the season to the Padres when all they had to do was win one of them to be in the playoffs. Game one of that series they had a two-run lead in the 9th. if you are telling me Posey was not worth at least one win for the entire season, you are crazy.
It certainly does seem to have rejuvinated Posey though. I thought he was done.

The "playoffs". Even if they got in as the last seed they weren't doing shit.

Doesn't change the fact that they would have been in the playoffs as I said. But good attempt to worm out of being wrong though.

Giants 8 and 2 in their last 10 and lost a game in the standings during that stretch. Tough division.

Props to Kazmir on another return to the majors. Pitched decently too (4 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 2 K on 55 pitches against the Dodgers). Hope he keeps it up.

Crazy to think he was 20 years old when he made his MLB debut... in 2004.

I'm starting to like Slater, Dubon and Duggar a lot. Gausman is the man! The bullpen is crazy bad though. Like to see them make a move to try and shore up things in that department.

Well, I guess Alex Wood is Alex Wood after all. Came plummeting down to earth after that 5 and oh start.

11 run first inning for the Dodgers. Carlos Martinez saw his ERA go from 4.22 to 5.83.
