This just in: Syndergaard = awesomely outrageous. Should be headed to the DL soon to join the rest of the Mets' staff.

Hey @tabascojet , you free this coming week to settle up our wager? I believe you owe me zero beers to zero I owe you

It's been a problem but I finally cracked tonight. I want the Mets to go nuts and get bats. Justin Upton, Carlos Gomez, don't care, go get them. They will never have more prospect depth than they have now and with pitchers you need to strike while the iron is hot. Look at a guy like Lincecum, fell off the face of the Earth. Guys get hurt, guys arms give out, they need to be focused on winning in the immediate future.

The Mets - making moves.

Its a Christmas miracle.

I guess the Braves have given up on this season after Grilli went down

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Mets "worked into the night" to acquire Jay Bruce from the Reds.

Other than that one Mets player named Wilma who cried when he thought he was being traded, these guys could not care less what color their uni's are just so a lot of the green stuff goes into their bank accounts.

This division race is over. Nats just plain aren't very good. 'Grats to the Mets.

Normally I would agree with you that that's what he's doing, but I don't think he is here. While I'm not willing to call it just yet, I don't think it's likely that the Nats can catch back up. A LOT of flaws there.

Who knows, though. :noidea:

Don't they have this habit of going on insane runs in August/September every year? Especially when they finish out their head-to-heads with the rest of our crappy division?

I'm not counting them out yet, given how this past weekend went for the Mets.

Have the NATS clinched the best record in baseball yet?

I think they were picked to break the all time single season win total and easily crack 100 wins before september

There is still time. They can still make noise.

But, they have to be one of the biggest flops in recent baseball memory so far this season.

The Mets in no way have this thing wrapped up. There's still 40+ games and the Mets/Nats play each other twice more this year. That last series of the year could mean the division.

Excited to be in this position in late August....forgot what this felt like as a Mets fan.

That entire division sucks donkey balls and the fact that the Nats can't win it shows how shitty they are.

The only reason the Mets and Nats are above .500 is because they've gotten to beat up on three of the shittiest teams in baseball.

Check out the NL East's record outside of the division:

NYM: 34-39
WAS: 33-39
ATL: 28-42
MIA: 33-43
PHI: 29-47

They're a combined 157-210 (.428) outside of the East, and the Nats have the best record with a .458 winning %.

How's that for far out, @yoga≈surfing ?

Eh. That's almost entirely due to their record against three teams: St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and Chicago. The Mets are 18-12 against the NL West and 7-7 vs. the AL.
