I usually hate stories about baseball players acquiring unlikely injuries in bizarre ways because half the time they sound as if they're almost certainly fabricated bullshit. I am getting a kick out of the Jose Miranda incident, he apparently strained his hand dropping a pack of water bottles while shopping though.

crazy Cubs game. We're up 7-1 entering the 8th, gave up 10 runs and scored 6 to retake the lead (13-11)

I picked up Logan Henderson for a throw in Sunday starter. In his debut 6innings, 3 hits, 1 BB, 9K's. Brewers have something, with Tobias Myers returning also. Gonna be a long season for STL fans. Hope we get to see some youngsters and their potential.

There's no youngsters. Mo has destroyed the farm system that used to generate tons of talent. Yes the MLB draft and International Free Agents are just as hit and miss but there's been way more misses than hits lately. Matthews seems like he could be something but Hence hasn't proven he can be a dude, Hjerpe had TJ and hasn't done much in the minors, Chase Davis has Kris Davis strikeout numbers with a third of the homerun production. Just flops all around.

Going into the season I think the strategy for the Cardinals was that anyone could win the division and the Cardinals just had to earn it. I don't really see a 'reset' here. Just a poorly coached team with average talent.

this year really feels like a "prove it" year for Walker and he doesn't look any better than he did in 2024 so far. even his AAA numbers in 2024 were rather pedestrian. also don't get why they aren't Herrera more at bats, what on Earth do they see in Pages? Hell, why not give Herrera some reps at DH?
