Now the Cubs come into town and the Crew has Peralta, Woodruff, and Burnes pitching. Hopefully they can get 2 of 3 and win the series

Damn that had to be tough on Cubs fans!

I was driving home from wor late and the Brewers were up 4 - 2, They had pulled Peralta ater 6 innings when the Crew had a runner on second and had a pinch hitter come in to try and score him and ended Peraltas day. In the 7th the Cubs tied the game on a monster home run with Williams pitching. After the home run Williams walked a few and bases were loaded with 2 outs. The Brewers luckily got out of the inning with a tie score on a ground out

When the 8th came around the Cubs were retired with no runs, The Crew came up and scored 2 runs and I figured with Hader ready I would head out and go for a run since they were up by 2 runs with 2 outs in the bottom of the 8th. When I get back from my run I see the post game talk on TV and see the Crew won 14 - 4 and I was like WTF I missed 8 more runs being scored in the bottom of the 8th ater there were 2 outs. I had to rewind the DVR to see what the hell I missed.

It was fabulous and always nice to beat the Cubs. They should have saved some runs for the next 2 games though. Many CUbs fans were there cheering loud when the hit the home run to tie the game 4 - 4. But after the 10 run 8th they were not very happy. The CUbs even used Eric Sogard pitch in the bottom of the 8th after they had changed pitchers a few times in the bottom of the 8th!

Will have to turn on late night Chicago sports talk on the radio to hear Les Grobstiens views of what happened!

It was a fabulous night!

I do have to say though that Chicago had a togh deal on the schedule as they played a night game in LA and after the Sunday night game had to fly back to Milwaukee losing 2 hours as they probaly did not even land until 6am or so. It was a quick turn around time between games

Yes was listening to that on the radio with the Cubs announcers they were happy as could be being up 7 - 0 in after the top of the 1st. With the Brewers using no name bull pen pitchers all day I thought it would be a shakey game. The starter lasted 2/3 of an inning. I did not expect 15 consecutive runs by the Brewers with 8 runs in the 4th.

A crazy series a 14 - 4, 2 - 1, and 15 - 7 wins

The Pirates up next

Votto hitting .277/.365/.505 over his last 30 games. .315/.373/.519 over his last 15. His exit velocity is currently the highest of his career since Statcast started keeping track of it. He's currently got an xwOBA of .374 (his actual wOBA is .334) and his BABIP is well below his career norm (.290 in 2021, career .344). Doesn't appear to be done just yet

He does have the highest K% of his career (23.6%, which is still not very high) and his lowest walk rate (10.1%) since 2008, his first full season.

MLB history was made in the last Brewer/Cub game

The Cubs suffered an embarrassing 15-7 loss to the Brewers in which they scored seven runs in the top of the first, only to give up 15 unanswered to get swept out of Milwaukee. The Cubs’ meltdown – which was their second high-profile collapse of sorts in three nights after they allowed 10 runs in the eighth inning of a 14-4 loss on Monday – made MLB history in the process.

The game became the first one in the modern era of MLB in which both teams led by seven or more runs at some point in the first four innings of the contest, according to Stats By STATS.

After the Cubs took a 7-0 lead in the top half of the first inning, the Brewers responded with one run in the bottom half and five in the bottom of the second. After a scoreless third inning, Milwaukee erupted for eight more runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 14-7 lead.

Hendricks now has a 2.56 ERA over his last 70.1 IP. He's also seen his ERA go from 7.54 at the end of April to 3.77.

Kind of a crazy schedule the Crew has a 4 game series this weekend with Cincy then the Allstar Break and then play Cincy again for 3 more games.

7 games in a row with the Red's

Scheduling is crazy at times in sports. Your schedule with the Reds doesn't make any sense to me at all but it is what it is.
