Looking around the league yesterday, nobody looked really "dominant" and the weather was incredibly cold in Cinci yesterday. After last years struggles, it is a little worrisome though

Our bats looked pretty "dominant" didn't they? LOL . . . . . I don't think we can expect to score 11 runs per game the rest of the way but it was impressive to see the Cardinals hang a 6 spot on the Reds in the 1st inning. I hope by summer these stadiums can be filled with fans once again because we have one of the best home field advantages in all of baseball with full stadiums.

I was only able to listen to the first 5 innings in the car but that first inning was a pleasant surprise. Off the top of my head, I'd say the Cardinals are usually really bad on opening day so yesterday was nice! The early off days suck, nobody should be tired and need a break yet. Save the off days for later in the season

I agree with you. I don't understand why teams that played yesterday are off today if their games could be played today. I do understand why many games are cancelled in cold weather cities without a dome early in the season however. All of these players must have a shock to their bodies after breaking spring training camps in the warmth of Florida and Arizona and playing early games that count in temperatures in the 30s. Do I feel sorry for them? Hell no, not with the money they are making.

What a shitshow between the Reds and Cards. I don't think the HBP on Castellanos was on purpose but I don't think he was too out of line. The scuffle probably doesn't happen if he doesn't flex but it also probably doesn't happen if Molina doesn't push him. Either none of them should have been ejected or both should have been ejected, not one or the other. The Cards also hit 3 batters while the Reds didn't hit any and this isn't the first time Molina's taken offense to another player's actions.

Then again, it is Cards-Reds.

I guess that all we did on opening day just pissed off the Reds since they came back to win the series.

Pitching was atrocious all weekend. It was disguised on Thursday with the large run total but can't expect 11 runs every day. Carlos looked good through 3, but doesn't matter if he can't get through the order a second time at the least.

None of our starters through the first three games looked good and on top of that, our bullpen, which is suppose to be one of our strengths, got hammered too. Hopefully we will get this pitching situation corrected soon.

I'm not going to do any knee jerk reactions this early for the Cardinals but the Reds do look pretty good early on.

It's way too early for knee jerk reactions for any team but the Reds have improved big time over the past couple of years.
