Nik Zherdev to the Flyers?

I hope this happens. I was a big fan of his when he came into the NHL and was rather disappointed with the results. The Flyers is exactly where I want him to go now (for that large price of course...if they sign him for 2 mill or something, it's worth it).

He's worth 3.9mil. Thats what arb said he was worth. On that note he would make the same amount as Staal and Kunitz. Thats the high and the low of a 4mil contract lol

He didnt bolt, he was released by the Rangers and nobody else thought he was worth 3.9mil except I guess Russia. Must be all that tax free loot.

Well, I guess I just don't trust his attitude. Not great in the clutch (the limited time he had there so far). Like I said, I was a fan of his when he came into the league. I'm not hating because of the possibility he might be a Flyer. I soured on him a bit back.

As far as i'm concerned we're trading a 30 goal scorer that plays defense for a 30 goal scorer who doesnt play defense. The injuries dont factor to me because at least when Gagne was out someone was filling his role...thats not the same case for Zherdev floating around like a guppy.

yes although we could trade gagne for a player who could get 20 goals on the giroux line. so we are trading gagne and getting about 50 goals.

yeah, if they do pay him 4 mil, then it's only saving 1 mil. age is certainly a factor...still, gags is proven. i dunno...should be interesting to see it play out.

Well if you sign Zherdev you are getting a younger guys, saving about a million, and do I dare say that Zherdev has some hidden potential? Maybe with Lava's system he will produce more or something.

i guess i just see 4 mil as a hefty price tag on what is sort of an experiment...certainly could be a big reward if he works hard in the system.

These numbers are scaring me. No way he is still "worth" 3.9 in the nhl. But still, I have he feeling we are hovering around the 3 million mark...which isnt exactly terrible.

I am liking Zherdev in orange already. Going to be sad to see Gags go

Your talking like those reporters who reported Kovy to LA, then to the Devils, then KHL. Nothing has happened yet. For all you know the Islanders are offering him a 1 year 4 million contract. They need to spend the money this year and even if they do sign Kovy still have plenty of cap space to do it with. Imagine the islanders with both of them. They might actually be a contender if they could get their goal and d going.

according to pierre lebrun the nhl and khl are working on the paperwork. once it is done zherdev will sign a 1 year deal with the flyers.

also gagne has not waived his no trade clause. they probably asked him if he would and he said yes.
