I'll be sad if they finally win a Cup and he doesn't get a ring. Other than that, I don't mind if he's gone. He's like LeClair near the end of his time in Philly IMO. Yea, he's a great player to have on the team, but he's hurt so often sometimes you forget that he is on the team.

i just wanna see the numbers.. like the style of player and the skillset he posesses.. i'm just hoping this team has overcome its ridiculous lack of drive that it showed in the regular season.. if not, i'm sure zherdev will leave his A game at home too

Scary player when he is trying out there. I've watched him skate around entire teams when he wants. Problem is he does that maybe once or twice a game and then coasts. Maybe he has matured? Either way I would imagine a trade is imminent.

So far nothing in Russian news about Zherdev going to PHI.
The only info I've seen refers to PuckDaddy, who essentially is Chesnokov (when it comes to Russian news), who is not 100% reliable. It's safe to say for now it's just a rumour.
The rumoured price for him is $4M a year. Why would Flyers want a player like him? Especially when they can keep Gagne (who is a much better player) for just a $1M more.
Just to remind you, Rangers refused to sign him for $3.25M a year ago. And nothing indicates he became a better player since then. In fact, he had a very average season in KHL.

he is a 50-60 point player so about 3.5 mil or 4 mil is about right.

according to the euroflyers twitter, the flyers have signed him. according to his agent, the flyers have not signed him yet although they are close. he said because of the time differences a deal could be done by tomorrow.

You are right, he was awarded $3.9M by arbitration. And I totally understand Rangers decision to let him go. He simply is not worth that much.

If Flyers are looking to improve their cap situation, why not sign Afinogenov? He is a better player for money. Actually, he is a better player, period.
