It's an interesting choice. Some expected Tavares to get the C during the press conference after he signed his extension.

Streit has 2 years left on his contract paying him 4.1 million per. It will be interesting to see if he signs an extension after this season or which direction the Islanders go two years from now.

Not often a player gets the C after sitting out almost a whole season with injury.

The odd thing is it's probably even money the same happens with the Devils & Parise.
