I guarantee one thing about this years Islanders team. They will probably lose more than they win, but every team they play will leave the arena knowing it WASN'T AN EASY 2 points.

Caps have struggled with the Isles for years. Tougher matchup for us than the Pens for some odd reason.

Isles Being Weak - Check

Swiss Army Knives

Still need a few to fill out the thread, people.

dash got thre "It's about time" bit.
I'm disappointed that I missed that one on the first go-round

guess we could call him a multi-functional player for the other.
not quite a utility player, so that one won't work.

It's very frustrating playing the Caps. They lead Isles fans on like they have a chance & then Ovi puts us out of our misery in OT. I remember one game last year during OT Ovechkin brushed Frans Nielsen aside like he was a knat & scored the game winner. Nielsen is one of the better defensive forwards in the game. He finished 6th in Selke voting & Ovechkin went through him like a car does a speed bump.

Good call. If someone can put together a nice army knife zing, we're done here! ;)

I'm sure his captaincy will be scrutinized with a magnifying glass. If he screws up, they'll be sure to cut that 'C' off his jersey in a hurry.

Streits go-to-defensive move is the can-opener :no-idea:

For the record, I believe this is still Tavares' team. It's only a matter of time. He already has what seems like the team's future on his shoulders, why not make it official? Young captains seem to do surprisingly well for the most part.

Except Mike Richards

Hopefully he can help fill some of the holes in the Isles roster.
