Is he the guy, all things considered, that you want the Flames to take Dash?

It looks like Seth Jones is the consensus No. 1 pick, Kenny, but the Flames biggest hole is not defense, it's the gaping chasm down the middle. It needs to be addressed by taking a center with their first pick. If not MacKinnon, than Barkov, Lindholm, or Monahan based on who's available.

How about the league rigs it so NJ has the top pick in their own building?

Devils won the lottery a couple of years ago but under the old rules they could only move up four or five spots.

They surely can't win the lottery twice in a three year span, can they? I mean, what are the odds a team gets the first overall pick twice in a three year span?

From another board:

There are 24,024 different combinations (14*13*12*11)

Therefore, on the big lottery board, each team has this many squares:

Florida - 6006
Colorado - 4517
Tampa Bay - 3411
Nashville - 2571
Carolina - 1946
Calgary - 1489
Edmonton - 1129
Buffalo - 865
New Jersey - 649
Dallas - 505
Philadelphia - 360
Phoenix - 264
Winnipeg - 192
Columbus - 120

The percentages to four decimal places are then:

Florida - 25.0000%
Colorado - 18.8020%
Tampa Bay - 14.1983%
Nashville - 10.7018%
Carolina - 8.1002%
Calgary - 6.1980%
Edmonton - 4.6995%
Buffalo - 3.6006%
New Jersey - 2.7015%
Dallas - 2.1021%
Philadelphia - 1.4985%
Phoenix - 1.0989%
Winnipeg - 0.7992%
Columbus - 0.4995%

Yeah, but could you imagine if some team did manage to get so lucky? They'd be unstoppable...

Hey, nobody likes to make fun of Edmonton more than me, but what the hell are Colorado (Duchene and Landeskog) and Tampa Bay (Stamkos and Hedman) doing getting another top 5 pick?

Also, wasn't Murray Edwards (Flames owner) one of the hawks during the lockout? If Gary is doing any rigging, it should be for his good friend Murray :D

I'm looking forward to the reaction of the other GM's, people representing their teams when the Oilers win it for the 4th straight year.:D:

It will be trolla-pa-looza on certain hockey forums if that happens :D

Simple their GM's have no idea how to build a winning hockey team. How Yzerman is still the GM of the Lightning is beyond me. St. Louis & Stamkos finish 1 & 2 in the scoring race & the team fails to make the playoffs. PATHETIC!!
