I don't think I ever axed ya this but how does someone who doesn't live in New York, Pittsburgh or Detroit end up having the Yankees, Penguins and Lions as their favorite teams?

I grew up in Va Bch with no Major sports teams.

UVA was Ralph Sampson
Yankees kind of a family thing. My grandma who use to take me to Tides games always talked about the Norfolk Tars. They were a Yankees minor league team in the 40s.
Lions was I rooted for the teams with silver and blue uniforms as a kid; Cowboys, Seahawks, and Lions. Then got a 1978 Greg Landry card and the Lions have been who I rooted for since.
Penguins were my youth hockey team. The coach was from Pittsburgh.



Oh and 10 years ago I was transferred to the Detroit area

People still drive their cars up and down Atlantic Ave. all night long??

I would drive the hour to the OBX instead of going the 10-15 minutes to get to the oceanfront of Va Bch.

The city council about 15 years ago started doing all they could to keep the locals from going to the beach. They opened a parking garage that was something like a $1 a hour if you didn't have a Va Bch sticker. If you were a resident of Va Bch it was $2 a hour. If the police see you go by more than once in a hour period on Atlantic, they would give you a ticket.

quick question on how the drafting works.

Players that started their career before 1970 are not eligible at all even if they played into the 70s?
