BTW, the Rams will be the home team in China in 2018. Could be in the Germany game in 2017 as well. Reportedly part of their relocation agreement to LA.

And you are a one trick pony.....

Desperately seeking your point?

The only people who respond to polls as you suggest are Chets and nosepickers.....

Heh. Yeah, because that's how polls work.

100% correct.

But we are still the only folks who appreciate it the way it should be played.

Bleating from Calgary aside......

Settle down Don.

That makes sense. Send over steaming piles of garbage, with a few exceptions, to see if the int'l crowd bites the hook.

Works in the UK. Last year the Jags/Bills sold out quicker than any game since the very first international game and at much higher prices. Quicker than Brady vs. Brees. Why? The Jags worked to established their brands there.. And something like half of their new revenue for the Jags sponsors came from London.

I like the idea, put on hold for a little bit the establishing a team full time overseas until the transportation side of things can get worked out (supersonic international travel would be a big help there).

And don't look at it like you have to be the #1 sport anywhere else. The UK has what? 90 million+ people within a 2 hour train ride of that game. They don't need fan fervor like Green Bay to work, and need to sell 3 games a year, not 8. They can attract a fraction of the fans that an NFL team does in the US and still work really well. China is the same way. NBA has done a great job expanding over there. And while Yao was a big part, remember Kobe is the most popular player in China, and post-Yao, with no real big name Chinese in the NBA, still half their traffic on NBAshop.com comes from that country. It's their #1 driver of increasing revenue.

Teams should tell Goodell to drop China plans, or find new employment. Playing in China is a completely idiotic idea.
That is somewhat true, but these deals are all about marketing the brand, and China has more millionaires than any other country in the world, so there is that. Next step, a rich China man buys a NFL team for a google amount of greenbacks.

I understand the money possibility but making teams travel to England is hard enough. Now add hours, to those long flights

Agree, but for some West Teams I guess travel time is similar, although I think you still pass 2 time zones going to China from WC.

The size of their middle class is mind boggling. And growing all the time. That's a big pool of people to market jerseys and hats and all the other shvt that the NFL peddles. So even if a tiny percentage of that middle class are interested in the NFL, it's a potential money bonanza for the league.

Thanks Richard Nixon. :)

Wow man, I was going to mention Nixon. Good historical fact. He's the one that opened the commercials borders after China's last dynasty.

Dead on, the NBA has gotten a nice boon in sales from expanding interest in China.

NFL doesn't have to be #1 there, or 2 or 3 or 4... Just have some following, and it's an entertaining sport.

Flight time NY to London 8 hours, LA to China 13 hours. So if only California teams and Seattle make the China trip they are on the plane for over 1/2 a day, start adding time for non coastal teams. China will be a logistical nightmare, not to mention the issues that can arise should any player do anything against China law.

I think the obvious solution is to bring back the NFL Europe.

What, like disappearing Hong Kong dissidents? NFL players could open up on a crowd with Uzi's, and so long as the committee heavyweights running China say it didn't happen, then it didn't happen.

This is true especially if they only shoot baby girls.

I don't know if minor league football will ever really catch on. That's something that fails pretty constantly in the US even. Even when they put the teams where there isn't a real NFL franchise. I think occasional tastes of the real game, and more TV exposure (which has really shot up in the UK) is a better choice personally.
