The Falcons defense hasn't been very good this year ?? Lol. Stopped reading after the first line of the OP. A top 10 defense "hasn't been very good " doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in the writers football acumen
I thought you put stock into DVOA, which ranks the Falcons defense as 24th in the league for the full season and 25th in weighted-DVOA.

I mean you put stock in it last year when you said Atlanta had the 9th best offense since the merger based on standard deviation from the mean in terms of DVOA.

I do but I also put stock in points ( as that iltimately decides games ). I think the reality is somewhere in between their total D ranking and their DVOA. The Falcons D is vastly improved and certainly hasn't been their primary issue this year imo

Okay so you put stock in points, where they are 12th and DVOA, where they are 24th. But you say they are a top 10 defense.

Right now? Yes. Teams adjust as the year progresses. The first 7-8 weeks they were better than last year but still not great . Since the Dallas game they've been far far better . The last few weeks especially the D has been very stout.

Selective use of stats and which is important is always one of my favorites from certain fans...

As a Cowboy fan. This year I pick yards lost on sacks as the most important stat and thus claim us to be the 3rd best defense in the league!!!

On second thought, clearly the most important defensive stat is fumbles forced and thus Dallas is clearly the #1 defense in the NFL...Suck it bitches :thumb:

Since the Dallas game (I'm guessing you are including that since they gave up 7 points), they are 12th in points allowed per game.

Do you have a minute to talk about Joe Burrow?

I really want to be all-in on Jacksonville making a deep run, but Bortles still have me wobbling in my seat.

Yup, cant you just seem them going up to New England and replicating what Houston did for 3 quarters last year?

Kick ass defensive effort, while Bortles does his best Ossweiler impression, until the Jax defense gets worn down

Just wait until next year when they have little Manning, they'll be legit Super Bowl contenders and you'll be thanking the former GM and HC of the Giants!

Agreed on Pitt, I could actually see them beating them in Week 15, but doubt they could pull it off twice......As far as the NFC, I thought Atlanta would be no match last season, so ya never know.....I would love to see that Minnesota team playing at home, that would be reallll interesting, especially with a totally legit defense.....

Totally agree. I have a feeling the Steelers will win wk 15 but never have we witnessed Tomlin out coaching Belichick.
