The only counter to that is from what I’ve seen... when a big market team like Lakers, Dodgers, Yankees etc have a buzz... Jets being a NY team with a “god qb” in Sam, I’ve seen where Vegas would manipulate the spread to get NY all in... meaning it’s so low and the Viks shit the bed vs the bills and “the jets might win” if the spread is that low... I’ve lost real money that way lol... but I could just be spouting off conspiracy theories so...
that is very true... People bet on emotions more than their brains... and east coast or big market teams will always have more people that want to vote for or against it... Also the average fan or average gambler, is not going to look to deep into things...
They will remember Vikings losing to Buffalo, despite that game being the immediate game after their tie with the packers(again, all 4 teams that tied this season ALL lost their next game-maybe that is a coincidence or maybe there is something to that).
there was enough context in this game to have such a low spread... But if you asked anyone that KNOWS football, this was a pretty easy bet(but of course people lose easy bets all the time)...
