Manning was great. There's no debating it. But he had huge lapses. 9 times one and done is one of them. He also wasn't the best team leader. Let's not forget the "Let's just say we had some protection issues" comment following a playoff loss. You just don't say that.

You can discount rings all you like, but how you play during the most important games should matter. Down 25 to 3, to a lot of good things to happen for that win. Brady didn't cause the fumble or push the Falcons out of field goal range, however he did throw foe a super bowl record number of yards.

When Manning got down - he sulked.

Shhh...28-3.

No usually cd keeps his homerism out of his comments. He routinely identifies if he is acting as a homer or stressing that it's personal opinions because he does provide a lot of data backed up by stats.

I wouldn't say you all are being homers by picking Brady. Most that pick against Brady are homers or just haters. And so maybe this is me being a bit of a homer, but I also believed this before Manning ever came to Denver. Patriots were the best team for a majority of my lifetime. Top tier coach, top tier QB, top tier organization, and they just kept winning no matter who was there as long as Belichick and Brady were leading the charge.

And as I said earlier ask me this question again in a month and my answer might be different. That is how close I have these two QB's.

I am right there with you.
I have often said Manning would have won more, if he played for BB in New England instead of Indy and Dungy/Polian...not more than Tom, more than he won in Indy. Same with Marino. There's a smattering of other QB's that would have won more if they were on a better coached team.

Eli is not in that group. In Eli's case it's just great when luck kicks in just as skill is tapped out.
