Just curious what everyone's take is on the new NFL anthem policy. You think it's good, bad? I think it's one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. Goodell may go down as one of the worst commissioners of all time.

Incredibly stupid. The NFL executive office and ownership is an outright clusterfuck

It is really convoluted but what else would you expect from Goodell?

Goodell is an idiot and even if he came up with an original fantastic idea none of the players would follow it because its Goodell.

That being said, owners need to grow ballsacks. These are employees. Their constitutional rights are not being violated if told to stand and STFU.

Wanna end this bullshit? Each player wishing to protest signs an addendum to their contract in which 25% of their salary is deducted for protesting. The money can go to a charitable cause.

Start taking money out of their hands and their politics suddenly change

The NFL made it's bed when they decided to insert themselves into political propaganda, buy accepting an absurd amount of money from the Military Industrial Complex. They are its bitch now.

About time. But if you're going to fuss about the NFL, may as well fuss about the NBA and its flag policy that's been around a LOT longer.

NFL is fucked either way with this issue. Every other league took the opportunity to get out in front of it. NFL let this whole thing take on a life of it's own. Now whatever they do is inflammatory as all hell to one side or the other.

Not a coincidence that a similar thing happened with the Ray Rice, domestic violence issue... Ray Rice is under punished. So Goodell freaks and gives him the lifetime hammer (essentially). In turn, he then mishandles the whole Zeke issue later on. Classic over-correction and with this it's no different.

Look, he sucks... but he's also been thrown a lot of curve balls. I don't exactly know what I'd do in his shoes.

The kneeling was killing him... Creating a circus... He's blasted by one side (including the president). Ratings are suffering... etc... He concedes to all of that and then opens himself up to harsh criticism from the other side. It's such a lose/lose situation. I don't know.

I wish the players kneeling would come up with a quantifiable reason behind their protest. What legislation are you trying to achieve? It's all so vague. You can't win a protest if no one really gets what it's about. "It's about racism!"... Okay...? "It's about cops killing black people!"... Okay?... What would you like done? What protest has ever been won - without clarifying what it is that you wish to achieve?

If they can do that, you're taking a step towards actual progress and ending it.

My take is,Stand for the Anthem,it only takes two minutes of your time to show everyone you are proud to be an American,if you can`t do that, you don`t belong here.......After that, they can protest whatever/however they want to......Its their right......(like I really give a shit about their protests anyways).

This is the greatest country in the world, show some respect............:
