The NFL didn't flex the niners/seahawks game into primetime instead opting for the Saints/Panthers game.

I sure wish I could say it was because they thought the seahawks wouldn't make a game of it.... but I think we all know thats not what they were thinking. :L

Can't believe they aren't going to give us primetime for that one. I bought my tickets expecting it to be flexed to a night game as they have done with the second matchup the past two years.... I have a wedding to attend that day... I have to sell my tickets....

Sucks.

Actually I think there is a rule the same game cannot be on prime-time twice in a season. That is the reason Broncos-Chiefs is not flexed next weekend, when (currently) they have NYG-Was scheduled (UGH!)

That's not as bad as opting to stay with 2 teams that are fighting for the NFC Least basement for the SNF game this week instead of flexing in a game featuring 2 hot teams fighting for playoff spots in AZ/Philly.

Not that I really want to see the Cardinals playing a late game in cold weather.

A lot of it has to do with which network owns the game that week.

Agreed, AZ/Philly and Cincy/SD are both far more interesting than watching the two worst teams in the worst division in football.

This - at the very least they could have moved the Cards/Eagles to 4:25pm, but oh well

As people have already said, the same matchup can't be on National TV twice a season, so they're out because of that, but you could make the argument that Saints/Panthers would be better than Niners/Seahawks - Saints/Panthers would be a really good game

I had never heard of that rule that the same matchup can't be primetime twice. Man, my wife is pissed because I asked her if I could skip the wedding.

Says I have to go. Who the fuck gets married in December? There should be a law.

Who gets married on a Sunday? Most weddings are on Saturdays.

I know. Its pretty rude if you ask me. If people are that inconsiderate, I don't feel obligated... My wife is just one of those people that does everything, so I can't let her down. I am so pissed.

On principle alone, I would skip any wedding on a Sunday that took place in November, December, or January. And if it was a very close friend or family member, they would get a talking to.

you could get sick that morning and tell the wife to go without you and that you will stay home and suffer all alone ... then once she is gone go to the game ... then when she bitches at you just tell her that after she left you took a huge poop and almost blew up the toilet but you felt better after that and thought it would be rude to show up at the wedding late so you just decided to go to the game instead since you had the tickets ... problem solved

I'm just glad that we finally have a week where there's at least more than 3 games in a week that are meaningful. There's been some bad matchups the last few weeks or so.

How can you be mad at the NFL for this? Maybe if the 9ers were actually in line for a playoff spot they would think the game would be more compelling. Considering the last two times SF-SEA was a primetime game, they ended in blowouts, anyone can see why NO-CAR looks like the better pick for the national audience.

yup, if we were even remotely challenging Sea for the division I could see your point, If you wanna blame someone look at the guy in your avatar.

If I wasn't biased to the NFC west, I would say Saints/Panthers is a better game. Heck, SF isn't even a playoff team at this point.

I dont know about this being a rule.

SEA-SF was on primetime twice last year. First game was a TNF and the second was flexed to SNF. And I have a hard time believing that through recent years no NFCE matchup has had both games on PT, same with PIT-BAL. I feel like those games are usually PT.

saints/panthers will be for the division lead so that's the obvious choice

So Seahawks/49ers was a protected game by fox which is why it wasn't considered
