I thought hard about taking Taylor, but was afraid many wouldn't recognize how good Taylor was because his career was cut short.

i think the opposite has happened actually... we see him to be better than he was because his career ended so tragically... 4 seasons, no All pro, and a no AV over 9... Not that great compared to other greats...

2 out of his 4 years he went to the Pro Bowl. Last 2yrs of his life he made 2 probowls.
2007 named 2nd team All-Pro. Even though he played/shared time on the 1st line with Bob Sanders and Ed Reed.

Taylor was just becoming a force to be reckon with before he died. 2 straight pro bowls would have been a LOT more before his unfortunate death.

His career was on the up when he died not on the decline. I got a great FS with the 236th pick in the draft. (IMO)

see, there is a huge difference between him and luke Kuechly... They both played 4 seasons, but one has ALREADY shown that they are a stud... Sean taylor, didn't have the stud season before he died, he only was a very good player... i get that he was 2nd team all pro behind great players, but his best AV is still only 9, And yes i get that AV is an arbitrary stat given by football reference, but i do concede that they know more than i do... And you all know how i don't trust the eye test... So basically i am saying it was a bad pick... LOL...

No a bad pick was my parents adopting me. Taylor was a great pick.
