Remains to be seen.

Maybe.

Way too many toss around the words 'over reached' way too early.

Evaluations come after play on the field and 3 years on average.
He may be a good football player in the end. At the same time, he’s nowhere near as athletic as Martin was. Additionally, drafting a guard that high is pretty questionable. In my humble opinion, first round is for guys who can play on the edge, not interior offensive linemen.

And that's why we have sports boards, opinions vary - you may well be right 3 years from now - cheers :suds:

Dotson had a couple huge plays in the SB. Does Parris Campbell or Ainias Smith make those plays? Idk maybe they do. Do we win the SB without Dotson? I'd lean, yes. We'll see what Dotson does in a contract year.

K, we will see

My opinion based on what Skins did with the picks received and that it's been 3 years to see Dotson's production on the field ( for 2 teams now)

They needed a 3rd WR on the roster and those other guys just aren’t good enough.

What does that have to do with picks given up for him and how the Skins used them?

This is in regards to the trade of Dotson, the value both teams received as a result of that swap and who 'won' - AP vs Howie in this particular instance.

Disagree. Eagles needed a third WR. They got one and won a Super Bowl.
Value is indeed in the eye of the beholder.

Personally don't think Dotson was relevant to that SB win but you know what they say about opinions... lol

The skins did do good with the picks they received IMO. As mediocre as Dotson was during the regular season, he stepped up in the SB.

If Dotson was still on the skins, does he fumble in the NFCCG? That was a huge play early in the game. It was a win for the eagles last year, and looks like a win for the skins for the next couple IMO.

Pretty much where I stand with the trade.

It's not like I think Dotson did nothing for the Eagles, had some impact plays in the SB but the fact Eagles aren't picking up his 5th year option sums it up (and Howie's thoughts imo)

There's some truth to that. I also think paying that 5th year salary for a #3 WR isn't very economic. He was set to make $16.8m if it was picked up.

Yeah I know. The goal is winning a Super Bowl. The Eagles couldn’t win a Super Bowl without a number 3 WR.

I don’t know how a team wins without having a 3rd WR. Each transaction matters when you win a Super Bowl.

He’s not worth $15+ million

I think the Dotson trade was a mistake by Howie. But he did contribute during the playoffs and Super Bowl so not a total loss.

If we are talking about Eagles-Commanders trades though, let's not forget the trade that let us draft this guy!
