It's an interesting question. In OTAs they were playing Cooper DeJean outside on early downs and then inside on nickel downs. So I think the #1 and #2 corners are Mitchell and DeJean respectively, but DeJean will play in the slot in 3 CB looks as a hybrid DB type like last year.

The question is who plays outside during those 3-CB sets, and yes, it looks like either Ringo or Adoree Jackson, whom they signed in free agency.

I think we may need a 23 and me on DeJean btw, I am not sure he's really white. Here he is at a celebrity basketball game this week.

Nickel has become such a common personnel grouping these days that the slot corner really is a starter. I do like the idea that DeJean and Mitchell don’t come off the field. I think they like Ringo a bunch. I think Adoree is the health insurance. He can play inside and outside. I think they’re set at CB, but my add at safety. I still see Justin Simmons being linked to the Eagles.

I think they are hoping Ringo steps up and wins the job, and I am too, from an upside perspective.

Ringo has been with the team a few years and this should be his time to move up. He has been a special teams standout as a gunner.

He has great tools athletically, good size and speed combo, and is still pretty young at just 22 years old because he was a baby when he was drafted.

So, he will get every shot to beat out Adoree Jackson IMO, who is the insurance policy. Ringo has shown some flashes when he has played but has also given up some plays.

Jimmy Kempski concluded his coverage last year in limited snaps was actually pretty good, but that his tackling left something to be desired.

Young but physically talented fits the draft profile of Moro Ojomo too. He’s only 23. These guys are both going to get a ton of snaps next year. 22 and 23 it’s like they’re a part of the rookie class.

That’s not the update I wanted. I still think it’s great to shed him however possible given how poor of a fit he was.

They got a pick for him and more cap relief than they were going to get having him play 8–12 snaps a game.

That makes a lot more sense. I couldn't figure out after looking at Spotrac how they got anywhere near $9M in savings. It also explains why they were able to get a pick for him instead of cutting him. He is only costing SF $8M this season. He doesn't have to be all that great to earn that

At the end of the day it sounds like they think they can get situational pass rusher production from the likes of Azeez Ojulari and Josh Uche. We shall see. I think that is probably true from Ojulari if he stays healthy.

I’m going out on a limb and predicting Jalyx Hunt has double digit sacks. Fangio has a greater tendency to play starters big snap totals as opposed to Eagles DL past with their rotation.

He seems to be the guy being projected to start now opposite Nolan Smith on the edge. The Josh Sweat replacement. I don't think he has the size to play the run as well as Sweat did, but he is a pretty good athlete with probably better overall pass rush speed at this point. I dunno, Sweat was a crazy talent but he was never fully recovered from a high school knee injury that seemed to rob him of his explosiveness.

I don't know much about Hunt, but only 17 players in the entire league last year had 10 sacks.

Sweat was Fangio making the most of his personnel. He’s a 3/4 guy. He had to run a hybrid last year. Hunt and Smith gives him the multiplicity he wants. Now either edge can drop in zone/ take back out man to man or rush the passer. The beauty of the 3/4 is you don’t know where the 4th pass rusher is coming from. Baun has that versatility and so does the first round pick Campbell.
