I'm not saying that Nebraska can't salvage the season and I still think they are the favorite to reach the B1G CG and play the nuts. BUT....

I think many in Lincoln have grown tired of Bo's antics (not referring to the tape that some coward released) and the consensus that I am hearing says the writing is on the wall for him. Has there been any talk about who could possibly replace him? With the new division re-alignment, many are hoping (me included) that you guys can step up and dominate the West.

I have heard a couple of names floated already from within your university. First and foremost is Chad Morris, the OC from Clemson. It would be an absolute steal if you guys can land him. It would immediately make you an offensive power. Another name is Scott Frost, the new OC at Oregon. It might be a bit early for him but his name is being talked about. For what it is worth, I would take either of those guys over the current regime in AA.

OK, I looked through a few of your threads but didn't really see a discussion on a successor. The B1G needs Nebraska to return to being Nebraska if the new alignment is going to work.

*btw- what is with all the profanity? It demeans you r university. Not preaching but it leaves a bad impression.

That is the buzz that I am hearing. I'm going to the Thursday Night game (Oregon-Stanford) on November 7th and plan to head to AA after that for the Nebraska game. Maybe I could throw Frost on the plane and introduce him to Eichorst.

We hired from within with Tom Osborne--huge success
We hired from within with Frank Solich--his success lasted as long as he was using TOs recruits
We hired a pro coach in Callahan--major failure
We hired someone with a Nebraska connection--failure to bring the program to where it once was.

I'm not going to pick one proven coach but that is what I am 1000% behind--Patterson-
TCU--Petersen-BSU--Briles-Baylor, Fitzgerald-Northwestern, and while Shaw at Stanford the claim is that he would never leave, but even omeone like him could very well take on Nebraska simply to prove he could turn a program around rather than inheriting one (like he did).

Now as far as the profanity goes. We live in Nebraska. All we have for entertainment is college football and watching the corn grow...you'd swear alot too.

I agree with the majority on Shaw, you aren't getting him.
Petersen to me looks like he is headed to USC
Fitzgerald would be tough to pull away from NW. If he leaves I don't think he stay in the B1G
Not sure about Briles. Do you guys really want him.
I would love for you guys to give Frost a chance.Didn't you guys try hiring him as OC?

As for the entertainment available in NB, the only time I have been there is for the CWS (3 times) and Big Red football. Never had a boring time.

Listen to me. It is a fucking moot point. Bo has made sweeping changes. The team will now practice on Sunday instead of Monday. Monday is going to be the teams day off. They are going to have more fun. They are going to spend less time on X's and O's and use that time on fundamentals. This will culminate into going 11-0 to finish the season. Natty on a Fucking Platter

Some guy called into Nick Bahe show. He would love to see Frost as HC/OC and Double Nickel as DC.

I agree with the majority on Shaw, you aren't getting him. It won't hurt to ask besides we already pay Bo more than what Shaw is being paid

Petersen to me looks like he is headed to USC. While everyone in Nebraska is going to expect results, the Nebraska job would be far less pressure. Besides, dealing with a bunch of 5 star primma donnas may not be his cup of tea.

Fitzgerald would be tough to pull away from NW. If he leaves I don't think he stay in the B1G. Northwestern lost a former coach to Big 12 school, don't see why/how transferring to Huskerland wouldn't be a plus espcially not having to contend with NW academic standards

Not sure about Briles. Do you guys really want him. Texas may be a big recruiting ground BUT Baylor is half the size of UNL and there facilities leave a bit to be desired. Based on his success @ that school, I'd hope he'd be considered.

I would love for you guys to give Frost a chance.Didn't you guys try hiring him as OC? Don't recall if we did. But the style of offense that ORegon runs is completely different than what we do so don't think he would have been a good fit regardless. And this fact alone makes me nervous about hiring him as HC. He fell into the OC @ Oregon more than anything because he knew the system. I won't mind a new HC that tinkers with our current system, but not to the extent I'd personally be comfortable with hiring another assistant.

I have no idea what's going to transpire here although that tape of Bo telling off Nebraska fans pretty much is getting the "PR" that suggests this may be his swan song especially when the chancellor & the AD weren't too pleased with his two year old comments either.

If I was to pick one of those that I mentioned (and there are other possibilities out there), I'd lean towards Petersen of BSU. USC may be sniffing but the move for him here would be alot easier. Lincoln wouldn't overwhelm like L.A. plus his type of coaching skills would be a better fit here as well.

Great analysis.

As a fan of Michigan, I realize how hard a change of style can be to pull off. Frost would definitely be a higher beta choice.

Peterson would be a great fit but if it comes down to $$$$$ I don't think you can match USC. Whoever it is, hopefully the transition is a smooth one.

See ya Nov. 9
