Does Washington need a new voice/DC to run the defense in 2025?

Edit: I went with the first choice.

In any case, I agree with Skinsdad: no, get him some talent first.

Nope!
If he had the newest version of LT, Parsons, or even, Aaron Donald this past year and didn't utilize him better, maybe it would be worth considering.
Btw: how do you vote on this one?

Wait a minute, isn't this his first year as a DC?
He was working with elite talent in Dallas, he inherited st turd, sticks, and the bama bros at DT. He got some free agents, and helped us dang near make the superbowl in year 1. Why exactly do we want "him" replaced?
If I'm reading this poll wrong, help me out

I'm no fan of Whitt, jr. He is all talk, no substance and the scheme sucks. For 17+ weeks he talked about stopping the run and it never came close to happening. If you cannot stop the run in this league, you saw what happened. I don't believe a few added pieces fix our problem. Sure it helps but you really need to go study performing defenses and how they scheme up offenses.

I figured I would get the proverbial, "its year 1", or "its an inside joke". In any case, I don't like what Whitt's selling. No Parsons, LT or Aaron Donald are walking through the door next year. Guys had 17+ weeks to learn how to tackle or as Whitt continued to repeat, "were going to violently put a body on someone", "were not for everyone" yeah ok. Until he can show me something other than one, if not the worst defense in the NFL, he is on notice.

I thought Quinn was calling the plays? No?

Explain to me how Whitt jr stunk up the season so bad it cost us the championship game? Bro, we were in that game thanks to the defense.

I thought Witt Jr made excellent halftime adjustments for a DC with limited options on defense.

I think its pretty clear that payne and allen arent the shut down dts that are being paid like they are. I think the fact that most of the picks on defense from Rivera havent really worked out wasnt helping much either:

Jamin Davis
Forbes
St Toast
Mathis
Percy butler
Kam Curl
Chase young
Sweat

Gonna take time.

This is a weird take given the defense just had 55 points put on them. Sure they had to cover for fumbles but none of those were returned for a TD, they allowed the score after the turnover.

The Eag;es had 11 drives, not including the 2 3nd of half kneel downs, and they punted only twice. The defense gave up explosive plays and long drives. They pretty much couldn't stop the Eagles or even hold them to field goals. Only 1 field goal attempt, which was missed or the score would have read 58 points.

They were only in that game because the offense put up 23 points. The defense was mostly to blame for that loss.

I had not even considered Whitt Jr, I figured it was a lack of talent. Then I saw the Lions get decimated by injuries but until they met Jayden Daniels they had played much better than our defense.

Absolutely. 55 points is 55 points, the most ever given up in an NFCC Game. Even if the Washington offense didn't commit turnovers the defense could not stop the Eagles all afternoon. The turnovers hurt but the defense failed to step up when put in a bad spot. They gave up 459 yards and could not limit scoring drives to field goals.

The defense went from 32 to middle of the pack. If we don’t have a sure fire improvement, why would we change coordinator?

I can see being upset at the defense in the last game but the TOs were killers. Sure the D could have bowed up but the offense lost chances to score by turning over the ball three times. The defense gave up TDs on drives of 24 yards, 31 yards, 51 yards and 58 yards.

No doubt the defense needs improvement but so does the offense. We all knew that at the beginning of the year. I think blaming Joe Whitt Jr is like finding a scapegoat.
