So basically anything inside of the beltway huh? You've made some very good points, the biggest being moving out of a larger market into a smaller one. Couple of questions though: 1. Is it possible that Mr. Snyder is betting on the current fan base following this team if he did move into southern Va.? 2. Is it still possible that he might move the team back near the site of ole' RFK but closer to children's Island as proposed before? 3. Could he in practical terms move the team to Richmond and hold on to "Washington" as part of the name?
1. Dallas has not played IN dallas in over 40 years. So yes he could move them any place and retain the name Washington.
2. With all the PC bullshit flying around, no way does the Federal Government allow him to build a stadium inside of the District while retaining the name Redskins. Ergo, the should not move back into DC even if they gave him the land and built the stadium for him. Three, Im in Florida, which has three teams of its own, but a Redskins fanbase as large or larger than the Dolphins, BUcs or Jags. So yes I think the real fanbase would understand the move to Richmond and still follow the team even if they changed the city name to Richmond. Even with a recent Superbowl title, the Ravens fanbase does not come close to the shear number of Redskins fans in the DMV area.
